how to tell what Android version a phone has?

Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich etc ... how can I tell which version my phone is running since going into settings --> about and settings --> software update phone gives me numbers not names. Being a version dummy I don't know how to tell by the numbers.

4.0 ice cream sandwich, 3.0 honeycomb 2.4, 2.3 gingerbread, 2.0 ,2.1 froyo if I remember correctly. My guess your on gingerbread.

Menu> Settings > About phone > Software information.

Look under the first line "Android Version " and if you are stock, it should say 2.3.4 which is gingerbread.

Looks like the Rezound is a little behind since there are now 3.0 and 4.0 out there. Ahhh, gotta love technology.

3.0 is for android tablets. 4.0 you'll see most likely in April or may. Htc sucks at updating there os they have to much bloat.

I already have 4.0.3 on my Rezound, I don't have to wait until April, I have everything you nexus boys have but w a better processor and a real camera, lol, jp.

You can also use this site on your phone's web browser to check version number + name.
