What folder do I put ringtones in?
I didnt find this in my forum search, when I connect the Rezound to the PC and set as disk drive, which folder do I put ringtones in on my SD card? I created a "ringtones" folder but it's not showing up when I try to set the tones on the phone.
Also, the files are m4r as that's what my iphone used. Is that file extension causing me not to see them, do I need to convert back to mp3?

Re: What folder do I put ringtones in?
Actually, Ringtones should go in a ringtones directory to keep the music player from seeing them and trying to catalog them as music files.
Not sure if it will do m4r file types, but I always suggest OGG, WMA, or MP3. - 01-24-2012, 02:43 PM #5

Re: What folder do I put ringtones in?
Must be because I am using the OG Droid Incredible then. If I didn't use these specific folders:
ringtones
notfications
alarms
then the OS library catalog software would associate them as music files and they would end up in my music player. Very annoying to be listening to music and then have a ring or notification tone play in the queue and try to answer my phone or check my messages. - 01-24-2012, 03:01 PM #7“Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long.

Re: What folder do I put ringtones in?
This is going to be the dumbest question bar none.
From the phone itself, how do I get to the directory where the stock ringtones are? I made a bunch of custom ones with Ringtone Maker, put them in the same directory, and now can't find them for my alarm clock. All I know, they aren't among those that the stock Music App shows.

Re: What folder do I put ringtones in?
Okay, thanks to a great VZW deal, I now have the Rezound!
You'll need to install a file browser app on the phone. I use Astro, but there are a fair number of good choices, so pick one. Once installed, you'll just need to browse to
/mnt/sdcard/media/audio/Ringtones
Astro defaults to /mnt/sdcard as the home location unless you configure it otherwise.
Take note, the /mnt/sdcard location is the internal memory of the phone. If an actual microSD card is installed, that will be /mnt/sdcard/ext_sd or at the very top file level as just /sdcard2.
