Updated ICS schedule

I can only imagine how much these updates are effected by background politics. The Rezound and the GNexus are the top contenders for best phone on the VZW network, and there was a lot of hype for the GNexus and much less for the Rezound.

I feel if the Rezound were to get ICS early this year, a lot of the hype, branding, and biggest selling point for the GNexus would be lost. Consider the Rezound a top notch device with second rate advertising.

Yeah, Big Red really short changed the Rezound when it comes to advertising. Its such a great phone, its too bad it does not get its proper due.

Completely agree. I was amazed to not really see this phone getting pushed by Verizon. Especially considering it could be the first to get an ICS OTA update on Verizon.

Why? They pushed and are pushing the RAZR/Maxx. Moto brought Verizon back from the brink....When AT&T premiered the iPhone they CRUSHED Big Red like a nerdy kid's dreams on Prom night. Moto will always get the preferential push on VZW. The Galaxy Nexus was supposed to be a flagship product that turned into a silent fart in the wind.

On the ICS update. We'll be lucky if that makes it through Verizon before 2013. You have to remember that at a certain point Verizon hands all their bloatware to HTC and tells them to "make it work". Some of which requires major re-tooling. Add in that HTC is notoriously slow/late with updates and you've just made a "later this year" release.

Everybody always said HTC run late with their updates, but who is better? Certainly not Motorola or Samsung. On a non-Nexus device, I still think HTC has a better chance of putting ICS on their devices before anyone else.

It's only an underdog when considering ad revenue spent on devices. On hardware levels it's on par with the GNexus, considering the strengths of each evens the playing field.

and so was my last phone of course it could have been a slightly better hardware.

Fine with me. OTA updates just screw stuff up. Sense 3.5 on GB works just fine.

True don't mind me i'm just bradying. I am actually just scared of rooting my phone

Rooting the Rezound is not all that difficult and with the dev's and hardware specs it's got, this phone will be the bollocks for a long time (NFC notwithstanding). Certainly no underdog.

The Inc had/has a VERY nice workable version of ICS, the Rezound has ICS, I see no reason for waiting for Verizon to crap it up.

Oddly enough, by scorching Google Wallet on the GN, Verizon may have effectively stunted NFC's growth.

The Rezound's big problem... it doesn't have Droid in the name. VZW always seems to push Droid branded phones over anything else.

If they called it the "Droid Incredible 3" you'd have to fight off the advertising department with a stick.

Verizon pays George Lucas for every single phone they sell under the Droid title.

They need to make that money back by selling more phones.

Who wins? George Lucas.
Who loses? Us.

Actually, Verizon pays, that way they can have Moto, HTC, and Sammy "Droid" phones.

Really sorry to burst your bubble but the top tier motorola phones have a better track record of updating there phones. They have less bloat then htc or samsung does. There hardware is easier to work with. And there the number one android manufacture on vzw. So it makes since for motorola to get updates out faster.

Oh and why is nexus lacking in sales its not software problems well maybe. But where's the eye candy. Average joes want flashy skins like apple not some plain jane looking phone. Motorola, samsung, Htc all have the skins folks want. The nexus was never meant to be top dog it was more aimed us the web blog hacking committee.
