Didn't read through the whole thread but if already haven't, go to settings then data, click through all the apps one at a time that you don't need to connect throughout the day and turn them off. Example: words with friends, you don't need it to connect and tell you when a move you made when you can just check it yourself. Do so for every game really.

Are any of you telling Verizon any of this? They don't read these boards, and probably barely read the boards posted on their own site. I have sent them two emails complaining about the OTA. Of course the first reply was have the phone and battery checked. My reply was its not my phone it's everyone's phone, but each time I come back to the boards and urge people to complain I get the same canned response, if it was that big a deal wed just root. So why are there threads like this? Over 50 posts of this sucks but no one willing to stand up, just sit back and take it. I know it's not like they're going to see a complaint or two and suddenly realize that 'hey we may have messed up' but if we say nothing, more if more people say nothing it's like it never happened to them. Go to contact Verizon and leave an email, go to their forum boards and post a comment,b go to the market and leave a review of that pos vla. I haven't checked for this post but the other day it had 103 reviews, and 7 were 5 star? 103. More people than that have read this thread. You can compliant about your position in life or you can attempt to change it, doing nothing will ensure one thing though it will not improve.

Deb, it sounds like you are having a better day today with your phone than yesterday. If you find you have more problems, a factory reset will work.

I used to have a Droid X and there is a second Droid X in my house. After the Gingerbread update, I had nothing but troubles with my phone until I got my Rezound, all because I was really stubborn and did not want to do the factory reset.

The other Droid X was forced to do a factory reset before installing Gingerbread and that phone never had a flipping problem after the GB update. I should have done a factory reset on my X as soon as I got the GB update (where the problems started) and start from scratch, but I was put off by the eight hours it would have taken to customize my phone. Instead, I lived in misery for eight months in a love/hate relationship with my X.

My first Rezound was defective (could not control call volume unless I was on bluetooth) so I was sent a brand new replacement. I downloaded the OTA on a fresh slate and I have not had one problem with the Rezound. I have all my apps back and no special settings.

So ... really long story short, if the phone is screwed up after an update, just do the factory reset. It might cost you eight hours, but it will save your sanity!

The Verizon forum is run by moderators and service reps that toss out scripts as solutions. If you check, the majority of those threads have no solution. If they do, it's a vague promise that Verizon will eventually look into it.
We have people that file complaints to the Better Business Bureau and the FCC. Nothing is changing. As long as Verizon provides a subsidy to the phone, they can install what they wish, especially since Android is open sourced. This is why you don't see much of this riff raff on iPhones and Windows phones.
I'm all for getting our point across, but Verizon is raking in the money and we're still buying phones at the end of the day. So as far as they see, whatever they're doing works.

Yes, I am thank you. Got home and still had a full charge after about a total of 10 hours. Amazing! What a huge difference! I can go back to loving my Rezound and got my sanity back. Looking forward to putting some of my apps back on that I'd removed and seeing how that goes.

It must be because in my mind it seems like they would have had enough of all the complaints, the sending out of replacement phones & batteries etc and doooooo something about this thus saving them money. They could offer folks a choice of no additional apps, maybe a gamer phone w/game apps, a business phone w/biz apps, a sports version w/sports stuff and that way people get more of what they MIGHT even use, LOL! They'd do away w/the expense of replacement this and thats and wind up with happier customers. But that's just me.

Sanity is good (sometimes)... A phone that works is even better. Glad you're loving the 'Zound again.
