Default Another update to Verizon Location Agent.

I noticed last night the Verizon Location Agent has another update available. Of course there is no changelog. Anyone know if it helps or hurts the battery problems it brought with the OTA? Thanks.

It's most likely to fix the previous update, which completely force stopped the application on the Rezound.
My advice, don't download it. If you OTA'd and managed to stop it from running with the updating trick, don't screw it up for yourself and allow it to run again.

That's probably what happened to me. I tried following that tip and the darn thing updated, so I probably got the fixed version.

I tried that, updating to break it, but it took and has been running ever since. So I was hoping this might be a fix. Don't want to install it if it just makes things worse though.

The next step after updating was to try and open the program from your app drawer or the services list. That's when the force close error comes up. At that point, just close out and you're good to go.

No matter how you slice it, VLA, is a Very Lousy App.

Yep, tried that. It did say something about not being compatible when opened, but never force closed and is always running. Guess I was one of the unlucky few that the update didn't break it. Only with Verizon would you "update to break something" on purpose.

It's not just you, that seems to be across the board, for all who updated. The core app. is installed and the update diables it as a running service when you reboot. It doesn't fully disable the app b/c of the permissions associated with it, it just sits idle. You can't force a boot app to close and stay that way running stock.
