Battery Usage When Turned Off
All of a sudden my Rezound has been using the battery when powered off. The last couple of nights I have charged to 100% and then powered down. When I turn it back on the power is around 70% and the battery usage says phone idle around 70%. Not sure why this started happening all of a sudden...I have tried uninstalling the latest apps I have installed and turning off fast boot but that did not help.
Any ideas before I do a reset? - 03-13-2012, 09:11 AM #2
Re: Battery Usage When Turned Off
Someone else I was talking to said that fastboot wasn't actually turning off for them even though they unticked the box. Do you get the full boot animation when you power up? And if you're fully powering down, maybe pull out the battery..??

Re: Battery Usage When Turned Off
I am not really sure what to say... are actually turning the phone OFF? Press and hold power to bring up the Power Button Menu, then select Power Off? Takes about a minute or for the phone to power off completely...
I have had a Rezound with ALL radios on, (GPS, BT, 4G, etc.) when powered it off, left it sit for almost 4 total days, and powered it back on with only about 10% power loss (from 100% when powered off to like 88% or 89% when powered back on).
If your device is truly OFF, then it should use almost no power at all, now if it is in Sleep mode (just momentarily press the power button to blank the screen) it will still use battery and it can be considerable if the cellular signal strength is weak. Perhaps pull the battery when you think it is completely off for a minute or so then put it back in. - 09-06-2012, 12:53 PM #5

Re: Battery Usage When Turned Off
If stock as well, booting the phone uses a lot of battery. When turning the phone on, boot time perflock is enabled and it holds the cpu at full power in order to keep boot times down. This does consume a bit of battery power I notice.
