Razr Maxx in the house
Well, there is a new Razr Maxx in the house and happily it is not mine.

My first impression of the Razr Maxx is that it is lighter than the Rezound, which I do like, and it appears that the Maxx manages its battery better than the Rezound. Oh ... and user interface related, I do like that the user can just click off each notification without the app opening and the user can create groups within app drawer.
Besides that, it's a Moto phone and it reminds me of my old Droid X.
I am SOOOOOO happy to be in the HTC world!!

Re: Razr Maxx in the house
I've told my short story before, but when I was in need of a new phone because my little Dare had seen its better days, I wanted the Droid Incredible but it was on back order FOREVER. So, I went against my better judgement and got the Droid X.
I basically resented the phone from day one and always wanted my HTC. So happy to have it now!!

Re: Razr Maxx in the house
Well I don't think the razr is all that bad. Although I have the rezound it was a toss up between the two. Some people just nit pick the littlest things.
Plus the voice call quality on Motorola devices are second to none. It's the one thing i do miss though.

Re: Razr Maxx in the house
I was talking to a guy with a bionic last night and he loves it and thinks the moto blur(I think) interface is so much more intuitive than HTC.
Seeing how HTC has improved Sense and me liking what they focus on I am definitly a fanboy of their phones. If we ICS soon I will be even more of a fan. - 04-22-2012, 02:34 PM #12
Re: Razr Maxx in the house
And that was a smart move by your brother? I don't think so. He just got a bad phone. Should have exchanged it, instead of getting that Samsung. Motorola's are not garbage. All companies let some bad ones slip through, but overall, Moto phones have the best call quality, build quality, speakerphones, signal strength, and are the quickest to put out updates (when not held back by VZW).
And the new Blur is, IMHO, better than Sense. No ways the resource hog, and doesn't slow down the phone. I am not bashing HTC, as I love them too, but don't think that they haven't put out some bad phones too. - 04-22-2012, 05:53 PM #13
Re: Razr Maxx in the house
I disagree, I had the bionic and it was a complete disaster...droid 2 sucked...i had the droid x..disaster...Motorola droid 3 my father had..had it replaced 3 or 4 times and he doesn't do any sort of rooting at all...I do agree all phones have there draw backs..but even motorola themselves are clueless after speaking with them in past experiences..My brother first off..had a samsung fascinate for the period of time he had it and got used to Samsungs OS look and what have you...If the quality was so great how can that happen 2 days out of the box?..explain me that one..BRAND NEW...okay refurbs are more likely to have that issue I can understand that...but there is no excuse for it..after paying over 300 bucks for the razr maxx....Now I will also say..every piece of tecnology has its downfalls and all of that..I cannot stand apple because I think there a rip off and not worth the money people put out..BUT I will admit that they have amazing quality...You won't see numerous people with iphone problems..I doubt it...I used to work for verizon so I know what the deal is..

Garbage is in the eye of the beholder. My first personal smart phone was the bb storm. Every one I got (I exchanged 3) all were garbage. Dropped calls random reboots, but I knew people that had no problems with them.
Sometimes your luck is bad but that does not necessarily make a phone or the manufacturer crap. - 04-22-2012, 06:08 PM #15

".If the quality was so great how can that happen 2 days out of the box?..explain me that one..BRAND NEW."
As I said, they all put out bad phones. I had 3 Droid Incredibles, 3 Incredible 2's, and 2 Rezounds. Even with that, I am not calling HTC "garbage". Stuff happens.
And how was your Bionic a complete disaster? - 04-22-2012, 08:50 PM #17
Re: Razr Maxx in the house
I think if you guys heard about freight was handled, at all points in transit, you would understand. Ya, there are some software problems here and there, but freight handling is probably the main culprit. I had a buddy worked at best buy and they would have contests to see how far they could throw tv's (still in the box). I worked in receiving at a big home improvement store, and even though we did not have contests of destruction, forklifts happen, order pickers happen, people happen.
My wife has a regular Razr. It's a fine enough phone, but the screen is hard to get used to after using a rezound. The smart actions are fine, but my wife can't and does not care to figure them out. She would have been better with a sense phone, and after seeing a non geek use a smart phone, I understand Sense, and even the Verizon bloat better now. Does not mean I like it for me any better, but there are ways to get rid of it, so everyone is happy in HTC land. What do you give Akop? A doughnut..... - 04-22-2012, 10:38 PM #18

And if you go to the Bionic forum, it is a completely different story. Imagine that!

Re: Razr Maxx in the house
I have a Droid 4 in the house now. My wife upgraded this weekend from her Droid Incredible to the Droid 4. I haven't used it yet, but I was surprised by her choice.

Re: Razr Maxx in the house
I have to say, this is easily the best phone I've owned. My first smartphone was a Blackberry Curve. What an atrocious wreck that thing was. All it was good for was email and BBM. Otherwise, useless. OG Droid after that one - that was a good phone, but started to slow down not long after I had it and felt like I had to overclock the kernel just to get it to resemble a smooth device. I loved the phone, don't get me wrong, but it frustrated me often. I went with the DX after that - hand me down (sorta) device. That phone frustrated me constantly - buggy apps, often force closed, terrible battery life, 2nd INIT ROMS. I loved the size of the screen and how light it was, but I think I owned that phone way longer than I shoudl have.
I was just reading this thread and it dawned on me that I have not had a single frustrating moment with this phone in the 3 weeks I've had it. Right on! - 04-24-2012, 03:33 PM #24
Re: Razr Maxx in the house
the droid x was the worst. had it for a year. it was miserable. so buggy, so slow, terrible camera. the only thing good about it was that it was tough as nails.
