psyched about my asus transformer update.
These other companies can learn a thing or two from Asus. They deliver on their update promises & then some. When something is not right with an update, I don't even sweat it; I know Asus is hard at work with a fix. Needless to say, so far, the transformer update is running flawlessly (loving face unlock). Now if I could only get ics (this smooth) on my rezound!

I love the ics leak on my Resound! Pretty smooth. Face unlock is cool. And I am jealous of the tf101 update. I have the tf300 without face unlock and my son got the update with it on his tf101. Asus is great with updates though. 2 updates in one month for the tf101. Great support.

Re: psyched about my asus transformer update.
Looking at the GNex on other carriers and the HTC Sensation on TMo also having ICS now, I tend to think the problem on Big Red IS Big Red and not necessarily the manufacturer. Though HTC might have had a reason to delay ICS on its other phones until the One series was/is released onto the market...which now appears delayed bc of freakin Snapple.

Re: psyched about my asus transformer update.
It's a good time to be an Asus owner. They are kind of forced to follow through on promises at the moment. There new on the block so they need to make a good name for themselves to compete with the more established tablet vendors. Hopefully, this holds up for them in future. Lord, knows consumers need more oems acting accordingly, at the moment.

Re: psyched about my asus transformer update.
That's odd because other than an odd motherboard ASUS has always disappointed me. I tell people not to buy their junk PC's and they do anyway because they're being sold at WalMart. I tell them not to buy ASUS branded Nvidia/ATI video cards. Oh but they do XYZ...and it's always a headache for me. However I will say that I am overly impressed with how they've handled their Android line of products. Smartly created line of seemingly well supported products. Who could ask for much more?

Re: psyched about my asus transformer update.
Haha luck of the draw then? I've got an Asus monitor, an Asus branded and OC'd GTX 560, have had other Asus video cards and an old LGA774 Asus mobo all without manufacturer defect.
Closest I had to one was a bad nVidia driver, but that's been resolved with the newest releases. - 05-17-2012, 12:29 PM #10
Re: psyched about my asus transformer update.
The laptops they sold in my college were pretty crummy. Economical, no doubt. But crappy. I thought I outsmarted Asus when I bought an Alienware.
I.E. Jumping from frying pan into the fire. A very expensive fire. I still have it and it works well, but it was just...pricey. - 05-17-2012, 12:41 PM #11
Re: psyched about my asus transformer update.
Haha yea. I'm not the laptop sort, despite having two curious "laptops".
I have a CR48 and an old HP TC1100
I installed Win7 on both, and while the CR48 seems to run Win7 better I think that's because of the SSD, and this is because the CR48 can't run MineCraft haha. The TC1100 however, after giving it about 10 minutes to sort through and start the various services and background processes, can play MineCraft on minimal settings.
Sad that MC is a benchmark for an old "tablet PC" and a new "Netbook". - 05-17-2012, 01:27 PM

Re: psyched about my asus transformer update.
I'm no longer psyched about this update. Face unlock is very sometimey, AND I had a random reboot today. Oh well, I'm sure ASUS is already working on a fix. That tab was awesome before ICS, (still one of the best ) now I'm hoping that when we rezounders get our latest dessert it doesn't f!ck up our awesomeness

I like Asus more than most all the other laptop manufactures right now as far as mid range goes. My girlfriend just got one and I have been more than impressed with the thing. The only company I generally like more is Toshiba.
Lord only knows I will never by a Dell product again. They make the biggest POS computers of all time.

Re: psyched about my asus transformer update.
Now there's a manufacturer that I know that I just get lucky with. I've had a couple of Dell computers and zero hardware issues with them.
I wouldn't buy one myself, but I do use them regularly. I'm actually typing this from an Optiplex
