Can someone recommend a service that will do this for a reasonable price? Also, is it worth trying to find a local service to do this? What's the best way to do a local search?

Not sure where you are, but if you're in the L.A. area, I have used uBreakiFix to repair a cracked LCD. Ran me $89. Decent job. Screen seems to have a slightly visible checkerboard glare in the right light, but besides that, not too bad.

Thanks. I'm actually in New York. Manhattan, Westchester or Long Island would be convenient for me.
