Haha that I got 2 for $200!
What else sold me on it was the beautiful screen and good processor. It doesn't run extremely fast because of the crapware Verizon put on it and and lg's horrible ui but rooting handled that nicely lol. I found out later that it has an unlocked bootloader.

Re: It's June. ICS any day now!
That's funny, I was thinking that the only way I'd be able to use one is if I modded the heck out of it. They did a nice job on that screen, it is really nice. I was a big fan of pre smartphone era LG devices. They really do need to get cracking on a new UI on their phones, it's deplorable outta the box.

Yea i agree. They should really just include a third party launcher by default or better yet offer a choice. I'm running adw ex on it right now until I either root it and / or upgrade to ics when it comes out. I would have rooted it in a heartbeat of it wasn't my only phone and I had to be certain I could undo any damage I cause. I am still looking for some answers before I root .

Re: It's June. ICS any day now!
I hope you're both joking. The Rezound is unbrickable. Read my guide(stickied in the rooting/rom'ing section), familiarize yourself with the routine, because it's dead easy. If you're still not comfortable with it ask questions, there are quite a few of us here that will answer you and unlike other places on the web, your questions are welcome here.

Re: It's June. ICS any day now!
I always enjoy a good dig at the forum whose name shall go unspoken.
I agree with MrSmith though, guys. I was a amateur nooblet when I got the Rezound, and my only customizing experience was on the OG Droid. I safely unlocked, rooted, ROM'd, re-locked, and RUU'd my way back to stock the Rezound with absolutely no damage done to my phone. Just remember, don't s-off and you'll be alright. The safeguards will be in place. - 06-04-2012, 03:29 PM #59

Re: It's June. ICS any day now!
What made you say that? Your totally cool in here, everybody is,bro. We're all members of the get along gang. I certainly welcome your opinions. The one guy just assumed you owned the Rezound and thought you were talking about being fearful of rooting on a Rezound. I'm not sure what the process is for rooting on the Spectrum but a lot of Rez owners in here are still very leery by the premise and nearly implausible reprecussions for rooting. When it's really quite tame from what they imagine. Everyone is scared to brick but it's almost impossiible to brick one w/ S-on, when talking about the unlocking and rooting process for our device.

Alright sorry I've run into a lot of jerks on the forums in the last few days and I guess I jumped to conclusions. I would take the risk and root on my spectrum right now if I didn't have a possible ics update soon. Don't wanna screw myself out of ics  lol.

Re: It's June. ICS any day now!
I'm in a very similar position myself, never thought I'd be, though. Just had to pick up a refurb b/c my first had a serious meltdown. I'm thinking excessive heat from heavy use of mhl/hdmi out caused it but I'll probably never know for sure. I was rooted on an ICS/ Sense 4.0 rom and now I'm back to oem GB for the time being. Trying to hold out, for a little hands on to see what the official ICS update will be like before I jump back into the fun stuff again. I hope it's soon b/c I was really loving me the PkMn seasoned BAMF rom I was using and it gets a teeny bit harder every passing day.

Re: It's June. ICS any day now!
Verizons finally got their Vanilla phones on ICS(minus OGD of course). Let's hope that everyone elses OTAs aren't far behind.
