Default Is anyone leaving Rezound for a S III

Good Morning All, I was eyeing the Galaxy S3 this morning and almost pulled the trigger on a pre-order but, is it just me that I am waiting for a Verizon version of a HTC equivalent device to the EVO 4G LTE. Am I alone on this?

No. Some of us are waiting for the Razr HD. One of us was waiting for a successor to the Thunderbolt. Some of us are waiting for the GS3. Etc.
You'll find a lot of GS3 stand-byers mainly because Verizon is ending unlimited data soon, so people want to cash that upgrade on one last great phone, and GS3 is the only one on the horizon before the data axe falls.

Exactly. I need any device like this to be a phone first and Sammy has a lousy track record with their radios. So I'll just bounce between HTC and Motorola until Samsung takes connectivity seriously and makes some major improvements.

I'm with you. I'm not to sold on the SG3..it sounds great but idk if I want to ditch my rezound for it..even with the unlimited data plague coming. I don't really care for the razr hd or motorola lol. I'm kind of an htc loyalist in a way. I want to see what they are gonna bring to verizon, other than the dinc 4g. after having the first two dinc's I dont think the 4g will be worth it, especially after having the rezound.

The Rezound is an awesome phone. With respect to the technology available at certain points in time, it's probably the best phone I've ever owned.
However, I don't like the path HTC is going on when it comes to form factor. The Inc 4G is over 11mm thick (for reference, the Rezound is about 13mm) and it has the smallest capacity battery of next tier's phones. Form factor isn't a huge issue with me, but it bugs me to see all the extra space go to waste.

I agree with you. I honestly feel that the Rezound should have been and inc branded phone instead of the new one.

I agree. If you are going to have the extra bulk then use it wisely right?. I mean the dinc4g seems great but I dont thing I want to go back to a 4 inch screen. The 4.3 inch is perfect for me. I do think htc needs to find a better way to keep a slim profile and also increase battery life or at least keep the option of changing the battery out.

Yeah the rezound should be the real dinc4g instead of the one coming. They should have used the rezound as the successor to the dinc2 and used the spot for the dinc 4g for a better variant of the one series.

After all the hype the Nexus got, when I received mine, I was really disappointed. When I got my Rezound...I was and still am on cloud 9. I just saw a video on YouTube the other day by AndroidAuthority. They did a series of drop tests with the iPhone 4 and the S3. I was disappointed to see the S3 was destroyed on 2 drops...plus all the features aren't that breathtaking.

Well you have to consider the fact that the S3's screen is much larger than the iphone4 plus it's a thinner phone so its screen is more susceptible to damage.

Not me. I'm still loving the rezound. really don't see any reason to leave. I've already solved my battery issue, by picking up a coupla spares and a external charger (all for under $20 bucks mind you), now the only thing bugging me is this constant cramp in my thumb. I don't see a larger screened device helping that issue though. Why should I be lookiing elsewhere? ICS? It's coming, I can wait, cuz if I really wanted it I'd root. Those planning on leaving, what is it that you are hoping to gain?

From all the PM's and gtalk sessions and emails I've gotten between the few boards I'm on etc, I think ownership of the Rezound actually just picked up....or people just like picking my brain....a lot.

External battery charger? where did you get this? I would definitely love to purchase one as that will help for me instead of ordering an extended battery.

Yeah I would like to get the blue one if I were to switch, but I love my rezound too much.

I bought an authentic htc external battery charger from Verizon for $5 shipped. It was for the thunderbolt but worked fine for my rezound too. There was one for the rezound too, but it cost more. Keep in mind that I bought this a long time ago though. Otherwise, you can buy one on ebay or whatever.

Even though my first Rezound died on me last week, I will keep my second one well into next year...as long as it doesn't die on me as well! The Rezound fits my needs (it is my first smartphone), and I don't have the itch to buy something else right now.

Amazon 5 bucks. I'll look up the sellers name & get back to. I also got some OEM standard batts for $5.99. Ya can't beat it!

    Not me.

No matter how pretty it looks in a video review it is a Samsung, which means bad radios, horrid build quality (as in cheap and plasticky feeling) and bad track record on pushing out bug fixes and updates.

I'm happy with my Rezound until VZW gets their version of a One X (which with its Krait CPU and a larger battery is just fine on battery life).

That's exactly how I feel. For me the Rezound is the best for me. My previous Android device was a Fascinate and that was a love/hate relationship. Where as the Rezound is almost perfect with its antennas and after Rooting, however the battery drain is my biggest gripe.

Yeah, I'm switching. The Rezound is a great phone, but I want to use my upgrade to keep my data, and I wouldn't mind a less chunky phone. Also development for the GS3 is going to be sick.

Since I don't root, I'd be stuck with TouchWiz on the S3. Ugh! No thanks! Also don't like the physical home button. Overall, Samsung hardware just doesn't do it for me.

^This, but only if Sams radios aren't pure rubbish on LTE. I'm not hopeful but miracles can happen, right?
