Oy Vey

So, can we talk about this ad for a minute?
1. Does it bother anyone else than only a half year ago, we paid $300 for the Rezound? And now it's down to $80.
2. Huh? "Black Music Month"? I'm fairly certain my black friends don't even know what that is. But of course, this would align perfectly with Verizon's marketing scheme for the Rezound. The only commercials I've ever seen for it were with some black kids walking around town using the Beats ear buds. And apparently, since now that it's Black Music Month, everyone should go buy a phone to hear 'black music' like it should be heard?
Awesome campaign

Don't really care about the excuse on price, I just took advantage of said offer and am very pleased so far. Given another week it probably would have been an sIII, but they forced my hand. Bonus points for the "limited time promotion" for arguing merits if a swap for said SIII in the future based on them being the same price before promo...wishful thinking, I know...
All kidding aside, I'd be pissed if I paid the original 300 for this.

That's why you get it for free... Like I have the last 5 phones in 6 months. Lol!
It is kinda bummer though. Lets put out a badass phone, and hinder any attempts at good marketing for half a year until we have to dump the price and make it look comparable to the lg vu.
I swear the free phones and unlimited data is the only thing keeping me with verizon... And the service. Meh

Re: Oy Vey
Dear lord wtf?! I realize the Beats thing was being pushed to the black demographic, and that black grandma dancing with the Rezound at the Verizon store was weird, but "black music" month? What is classified as black music, Verizon?
There are white rappers, you know. Jazz isn't just sung by black people. Do you...do you...do you mean African tribal music? I mean, c'mon with this marketing. - 06-28-2012, 08:02 AM #6“Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long.

Re: Oy Vey
First off, with no offense intended at all, I'd like to begin by saying I thought you were white.
Second, It's pretty funny that you bought the Rezound despite all of that stereotypical marketing. I would've avoided it out of spite. I know it's not HTC's fault, but I dunno, seems weird to me. Like if they marketed the Razr Maxx by showing a family eating rice and beans or tacos. - 06-28-2012, 08:31 AM #8
Re: Oy Vey
I also thought he was white..( no offense). But I'm with both of you on this one, the marketing for the rezound before was acceptable, But really "black music month"? Out of all the other months they had to push a promo for it during black music month as if blacks are the only ones that have purchased or are interested in purchasing this phone. I wonder if they will promo a phone during any other months dealing with a particular race?
Btw I too am black, and I didn't know it was black music month either lol.nerds are super heroes too!!!!!

I paid $50 on upgrade within 2 weeks of release. Others paid a penny but for new line of service.
