Default So,... as a current/soon-to-be-former HTC ThunderBolt owner...

I have been a proud owner of the HTC ThunderBolt since launch day last year, but after going through four warranty replacements (screen, call quality, kickstand, call quality), I'm moving on. My only real complaints with the TB have been call quality and battery life.

I've been looking at what's out there right now, and I'm just not enamored with the Motorola or Samsung options. (I love Sense.) I thought I wanted the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE (mouthful), but after seeing it in-store, I wasn't wowed. I've been thinking about the HTC Rezound, but I wanted to throw a general question out there about what kind of battery life and call quality I can expect... otherwise, the Rezound seems to have everything I'd want, including a nice bonus of included headphones since I've gone through several pairs searching for something that compared to the Solo Beats I used to have.

Thank you in advance for your insights!

I had a TB in my grimy hands for awhile and compared to that, the rezound is like the Maxx.
Now I never put ICS on it so I am guessing things got better, but still it seems as though 12-16 hours for the rezound is the norm.

Call quality is second to none depending on your area. The radios in this thing are a beast!

Depending on usage and area, your mileage may vary for both, but it is a solid phone

Thank you for the response! If there are any Rezound owners from Minnesota/Twin Cities, I would love to hear your thoughts, too.

    Thank you again in advance!

Running one of the latest ROMs I can get 23 hrs or so of standby time out of the battery with (for my standards) average use, which means a few minute phonecalls here and there, a few texts and some browsing, a youtube vid or 2..which is almost 3 hrs of screen on time (I do dim the screen in the evenings and run it at about 40% the rest of the day, and have auto sync turned off).

Which ROM are you using? How do your experiences with that ROM compare to others? Thank you!

I just gave my Thunderbolt to my bro a few weeks ago (really started to like it after I found a flawless rom), but the Rezound improves on almost every aspect of the Thunderbolt. ICS and sense 3.6 on this phone is pretty awesome too.

To answer your two questions directly: Battery life is better and I can hear my calls without the infamous ear piece crackling.

Question for the Thunderbolt users: picked one up for my wife a few months ago and the notification volume for texts & calls is ridiculously low (all possible settings are at max and it still seems to be in "whisper-mode)... have y'all encountered this and if so, how did you correct it?

Rezound, as others have said, is a beast! Radios have a lock-on capability that the military would love have. Screen is jaw-droppingly amazing. Sadly, I do not live in an area that is covered by 4G... but the upside is that I have tremendous battery life!

Hmmm, never really had that problem, but if you compare the Thunderbolt's notifications to the identical ones (Zeta for example), the Rezound is noticeably louder.

I look back at my nightmare of an experience with the Thunderbolt and I can say that all those headaches I had then I don't have with my Rezound. The first thing you will notice is just how amazing the screen feels to the touch. It's amazing, you will also notice that it looks beyond amazing as well.

Just make sure to adjust your brightness settings, it eats up battery life really fast.
