In case anyone didn't know, even if you are on 4g, the signal strength in the Settings menu shows cdma signal strength. As a comparison, I took a screen shot of the Settings screen and of using the signal info app that shows lte signal.

Also, some phones, like the GSIII will show lte rsrp signal strength in the Settings menu, just something to keep in mind should you decide to compare signal strength between two phones.

This is true in stock gb and ics.
