Default Unable to Manually Check for Updates

I'm still waiting to get ICS. Probably hasn't rolled out in my area yet, but I have noticed that I cannot check for updates manually. I have the update which "prepared" my phone for ICS, but that's it, and now I am unable to check for updates... Anyone else have this problem?

It just might be a glitch I would attempt to reboot your phone and see if that helps

i have restarted and shut down multiple times and still nothing... Hopefully, it's just a case of my region not receiving it yet

    Mine was a little funky.
Whenever I selected "Check new", it never gave me a dialog box saying it was checking. But after a while a window with the update info and update accept/defer buttons would pop up. This happened for both the 7mb "prepare" update and the full update. In both cases, I just selected "check new" and let it sit there (with the screen on; not touching anything) and eventually the update window would finally show up.

If you're still having trouble, try this:
Switch off wifi and be on Verizon network.
Go into apps, then all, and select updater. Force stop, clear cache, etc.
    Battery pull
Once the phone completely loads back up, go back to check for updates. Hit "check new" and wait for about a minute. It should get rolling.

Hope it works for you, too!

I've tried everything, but it still won't check for new updates. I guessing I just have to wait until they release ICS in my area

You've got it, but for some reason the Rezound seems to have trouble processing these updates. For some people, the update would start immediately after the download. Others took awhile. One person reported it took about 10 hours between download & update. Lots of us did restarts, battery/SIM pulls, etc to try to force the update. I don't know if any contacted Verizon or tried taking it into a store. It would be interesting to get an official explanation of what's going on and what to do about it.

nw pennsylvania... I talked to verizon support and they said it may take 4-6 weeks for the OTA to reach everyone. My brother and sister are both having the same problem with their rezounds also

It does seem odd that you got the first part of the update and now you are waiting for the rest. However, with your brother and sister experiencing the same issue, perhaps the OTA has been stopped for some reason.

The update seems to be working the same way, the first part and the immediate second part even on Razrs and Maxxs.

Keep us posted and I hope you get the rest of your update soon!
