Default Could it get any worse?

Sitting here in class, few streets away of 4g, a hallway away from open wifi, have another open wifi, but needs account to surf interwebz. So I have 3g. Not any 3g, but the slowest I've ever seen. Couldn't even "finish" the test

That has to be an all time worst record holder lol! I would like to test my theory here which greatly increased my 3g speed. Dial ##778 and the edit mode and the code is 000000 then modem settings and go to Rev. A and choose enable then hit the menu button and hit commit and let it re start and then do the speed test. I did the same and my speeds went up literally 10x. Something about Ehrpd does not seem to sit well with this phone from what I have seen. I went from 150kb with full bars to 1500kb and higher ever since changing it. I would like to see if it does the same for you to help back me up and you will always get better speeds as well.

Nope. It causes no issues whatsoever. Ironically I found this out when I went back to school and was getting the horrendously slow speeds lol

Haha good deal! I'll try to decipher the steps and try em out! Do I have to be in 3g during it all? Cause I'm home now with 4g (thank god)

No. Here is the step by step. 1. open phone dialer and key in ##778 2. a popup will appear and hit edit mode 3. The key is 000000 4. choose modem in this list 5. scroll down to Rev. A and tap it 6. Choose enable at the top instead of ehrpd 7. then hit the physical menu button and choose commit modifications and let it restart. You will now be on Rev. A for 3g instead of ehrpd. You can choose cdma only to give it a try at home but you do not have to been in a 3g only area to do it.

No need to pay attention. It's one of those classes where there's no homework, no work at all except like 4 or 5 exams. He talks non stop the whole 2hr class for a couple weeks, then the week before the exam he just goes over and reviews everything you need to know. So that's when you pay attention and write shat down lol gotta work with the system

Cool. Let me know so know if it's just my area or not. Tested again a few miles from campus in my apartment and rev.a was about 1200 and the other was 200 so it seems to hold all threw my city. It still doesn't have 4g which sucks because I have it at home and know what I am missing lol

Haha yeah I don't live in a big or city area but 4g has came across pretty decent in the past 2 months or so, so I have it most if the time. When it switches back to 3g I'm some random spots its a total drag now loll

Well Yesterday I got the awesome surprise of 4G! My area has not been announced as a market and my local store told me on Thursday that it was being put off until December! Well I do not need to worry about slow 3g anymore as I get about 16mb down now!

So I am assuming that even on Rev. A you get no 3g coverage to try?

If I don't have 4g, the 3g sputters in and out between 1x and is usually always decently shatty lol its always worst while I'm at class, which are what those two tests are from
