Re: There's no place like home
Thanks.. That is a relief. I thought maybe one had been rooted and had Ics or something. I'm also glad to know I made the right choice on the phone. I liked the look and the feel of it and it seemed like a high end device. I'm surprised it was hard to find information and reviews on it. I appreciate the welcome, jumping into a forum often feels like being the new kid in school. Never quite sure where u fit in.

Re: There's no place like home
The rez is a pretty high end device that got totally ignored all the way around. Verizon was a pretty big butthead in all of it. The details are too long and you really do not want to hear about it.
You made a good choice. ICS was out awhile ago, so you are ok there. Do you have wifi? I have some ideas that could help you get prepared for things later on...such as making sure you are totally stock on both phones, not rooted and totally updated before Christmas... - 11-24-2012, 10:36 PM #28
Re: There's no place like home
Lol.. Your right I probably don't want to hear the gory details. Wading thru a lot of Verizon crap as it is waiting for JB on my Slll.. Yes I have wifi so that would be awesome. I don't have the sim cards yet. I'll take all the ideas and help you want to throw out there.

Re: There's no place like home
check back in the afternoon tomorrow I will have something written up for you. Basically here is what I am thinking.
Turn on the phones, and bypass the activation (I have to look up how to do this but it is easy)
sign into wifi on your network
go to the play store and download root checker, install
check to make sure the phone is not rooted
go to settings--> about phone and check the version number, baseband and kernel are all stock (I have to check which ones are current)
go to settings--->about phone and check for software updates if they are out of date and do the updates if necessary
After everything is updated and works, do a factory reset
If things are not as they should be, such as you are rooted or not running stock, it is easy enough to get you there.Thanked by 2: - 11-24-2012, 11:35 PM #30
Re: There's no place like home
Looks like you've already got some great answers to your questions because Piizza is endlessly helpful, despite not even having a Rezound anymore. Good choice on the Rezounds, hopefully your kids enjoy them. I mainly just wanted to say welcome, and don't feel stupid for asking questions around here. This little corner of the forum is very friendly, helpful, and good at making you feel "at home. So, welcome!

Re: There's no place like home
I am not gonna know what to do with myself if the rez ever hits "legacy device" status or gets updated to JB. I can only troll the iNexus users so much....I was hoping to get another rez and give it to my son so I would have an excuse for the wife to A) buy it and B) spend so much time around here.
I keep telling her I can only look at porn for so long...

Re: There's no place like home
Lmao... Thanks for the warm welcome. I will look for your instructions tomorrow. I know one of the phones is updated..but that's all I know..lol. What is an inexus? I had the nexus before the slll and after four of them I got tired of the issues I was having with them and asked Verizon to replace it with the slll. Haven't had a single problem with it. Of course as soon as I switched the nexus updated to JB. Lol

Re: There's no place like home
I call them iNexus anymore because some of the people that buy them, not all mind you, remind me of Apple iPhone users (there is nothing better!! Pure Google!!! Problem with your phone!?!? GET A NEXUS!!)
with the Nexus 4 it seems to have reached an all time high...
i know you said the one is updated, but I want to make sure it is stock so that you will not run into issues down the road for Updates and the like... - 11-25-2012, 01:06 AM #34

Re: There's no place like home
nah, I am up like this a lot.
My wife works third shift for the next few months and I hate sleeping without her AND I do not need a ton of sleep AND I am putting a custom ROM on my phone so those three things have me up late tonight. Most nights it is just the first two.... - 11-25-2012, 02:58 AM #38

I am here if needed. If you have questions ask. It is easier to prevent the mistake than fix it. My wife is gone in half an hour and then you will have my full attention

yeah of course. I just may not be as timely as I could be but I will be sure to keep an extra listen for the AC tone on my phone.

Re: There's no place like home
I love my Rezound and really wanted the DNA. But the lack of no micro SD card is a definite deal breaker for me. My last phone before a smartphone was a Samsung and it wouldn't hold a signal and that wasn't good and so it put a bad taste in my mouth. I would dial and lose signal and living in Cave Creek I need a decent signal. I am very pleased with my tablet and don't mind their interface at all. Love my tab....and I have been playing with the S3 and have been to AT&T numerous times now playing with the Note2.....very tough decision for me.
I also won in the Million dollar giveaway contest a 100.00 shopping spree for accessories. Not wanting anything for the Rezound because even though I love this phone I am definitely upgrading to new and more. After careful consideration have decided on the Note 2. I do have small hands and don't find it difficult to hold. I love all this device can do and it really is cool. And in my old age I still like the COOL FACTOR. I chose
accessories for my new future phone and can't way to use them.
If the Note2 hadn't been coming to Verizon I would had decided on the S3 Both of these are great phones. I can't wait to have the Note in my hands. I am hoping I can get an earlier upgrade. I want the white one.
