Can't set up another POP3 account

I joined Suddenlink and got a good deal on their cable internet. Now I'm saying bye-bye to VZ dryloop DSL. Once I do that, I'll loose my VZ email address and so now I want to set up on the Rezound my new email address for Suddenlink. Tried for hours with help from Suddenlink but just kept getting "can not connect to the mail server...not responding" message. Anyone here have Suddenlink on their Rezound and could help me out? Or not have it and will pass some advise over? Checked password, POP server settings, SMTP settings, username, SSL, different times of day...

UPDATE: Reset SL password, re-entered password from phone to SL and fixed.

Try using another email app to see if it is the app or the settings. I use MailDroid
