So I have been having troubles with my Thunderbolt lately and so I went into the Verizon store for help on Friday night (the 2nd of December). At the time all my phone could get was 1X in a town I get LTE all the time. I also told him that it is constantly dropping my data connection completely and that the only way to turn it back on is a reboot.
He eventually got it to go back to LTE, but not 3G and he did that by switching it back and forth a few times in the settings. He never was able to get it back on just 3G.
At that point he logged into his computer to see if it was a common issue because he claimed that the Thunderbolt has never come in to the store with problems. (I rolled my eyes). Once he started looking things up he said out loud from his monitor, "3G connection issues...software update expected roll out date of the 15th." I asked him to clarify and he read it again, "A software roll out date is expected on the 15th of December."
I'll believe it when I see it! But, my phone has been having these problems since the beginning of November. I also informed him that I did a HARD RESET on the 8th of November and that I would like a replacement if at all possible. He said, "NO!"
He didn't want to replace the phone because he couldn't guarantee that a replacement would work any better. He said to wait 'till the 15th for the update.
I left kind of pissed. I'll give it until the 15th. The phone overall isn't bad..it's just buggy.
I'm also getting the GPS Location warning every time I reboot. I hit never warn almost every time. It's kind of annoying. That started at about the same time I had been having network connection issues.
