Anyone else having some issues with the audio drifting out of sync with Netflix. Non-rooted, official Netflix app, tried on 4G and Wi-Fi.

About 10-15 minutes into any video the audio drifts out sync badly. Pausing the video helps, but never get it perfect again. Pretty much have to restart the app to get it correct again, but drifts back out. I don't seems to have any issues with local videos or youtube, or other flash vids.

Proabaly going to try a wipe pretty soon. Been looking froward to Netflix for a while, suxs that it doesn't work well for me.

Actually, I've had that happen on my TV. Sometimes that can be caused on the Netflix side. I wouldn't do anything to the phone until you're pretty sure it's the phone and not the service. You might try it in a very good 4G area and also in a different Wifi environment before doing a factory reset. Also, use a different movie for the test.

I was going to say that I have had it happen on my desk top as well....

I have the same issue. I hope Netflix can fix this.

Watching hunt for red october and had the same thing happen to me.

Pausing or closing out and restarting fixed the issue though, it wasn't perfect.

I also found that rebooting the phone helped fix the issue.

I watched a complete Netflix movie last night to test the app. I did not have this audio sync problem at all when I was in a strong 4G service area. Later I watched the bulk of the movie in a different area with just a 3G connection, and I had this out of sync problem happen twice. Both times I paused the play for 15 seconds or so, and the audio was back in full sync again when I resumed watching the movie, and it stayed in sync for a long time. I think this problem will probably not occur when in a strong 4G or strong WiFi reception area, but may occur from time to time with a slower 3G connection. It was not a huge problem for me. The video and audio quality was excellent overall. This a great addition the phone's capabilities.

Mine did the same thing all day long. Worked perfectly on my work phone but no go on 4G or wifi on my TB. I have FIOS at home and on my very fast connection, it seemed to be better. I am sure they will fix it shortly.

I had the same problem last night while watching my first movie to test the app. It was out of synch about 10-15 seconds. The audio was ahead of the video. I tried shutting down the app, but it didn't help much. I'll try doing the pause trick next. I don't have 4G, so I hope Netflix can do something. Nontheless, it was pretty cool watching a movie on the phone.

FYI this happens to me while using the HBO Go app as well. Not isolated to just Netflix

Tested mine this morning for 30-40 minutes. Worked fine on my 4G. I would bet it is more network related than Netflix. Might have a dip in connection speed that knocks it out of sync. Probably why some people have luck pausing it for a few minutes to let it catch up.

I bet Netflix was required to keep the bandwidth buffer really low to please the cell carriers so that no unnecessary usage is wasted once a user backs out of the app. Keep in mind with data caps if you have an extended buffer and you don't finish to that point you may be paying for bandwidth if you've gone over your limit and didn't even get to use it. The carriers are probably afraid of a lawsuit because of something like this and want to keep that buffer tight. Maybe a little extra is a good idea to keep the quality up though.

Happens almost every time on Netflix, but never had it happen on HBO Go. I'm sure it will get straightened out.

Sounds about right
