Any chance a version of skype for evo 3d with video calling would work on the thunderbolt?

I know I have downloaded other things for the evo 4g that have worked.

the original leaked version with the security leak will work for original software and mr1. the cracked skype will work for gb. there is currently no working skype vide for mr2 froyo, including the recent mr2 ota.

indeed it does. however my video is flipped. I have to put device
in landscape for the other person to see me correctly.
apparently this is a known issue?

There is a hacked version that works fine on the TBolt (with MR2).

I've uploaded the apk into my public Dropbox folder:

You should be able to download it from there. It worked just fine on my phone, so it should work on yours. I did have the old version that stopped working and which I uninstalled prior to installing this one.

yes, i've heard of this complaint. the video is also only in landscape (the leaked version with the security leak allows portrait and landscape, but only works in original software or mr1)

I tried it and it did not work. Stock unrooted though, not sure if it makes a difference in this case.

My phone is stock and unrooted (Froyo) and this works on it. Do note that this version of the apk was the one hacked to work after the MR2 update. I do not know it will work with MR1. There was another version of the apk at XDA that worked with MR1.

That is weird. I had no problem with it. I'd suggest going to XDA and checking out if they have a newer version of the apk.

Correction.

Got it to work!

I had to uninstall the other version of skype I already had and then install. I haven't tested that video chat yet, but the app is installed.

Great! Yes, the old version should be removed before installing this one. It will not upgrade the existing version if you already had it on the phone.

Have stock MR2,I uninstalled the old ver of Skype and installed the new apk shows ver 2.0.0.45. installed ok but I can't get the video to work. It shows the option to make a video call but takes me to a screen that has action / profile for the person that I am trying to call. then nothing happens Any ideas ???? thanks

Force closes when I try to answer a video call and won't let me initiate one. Looking got an updated version.

As I stated earlier, there is no video skype for mr2 froyo. Original software or mr1 will work with leaked skype with security leak, and the hacked latest version will only work on gb. On mr2 froyo , some are able to open the app, but video does not work.

Sounds like treknologist has it working on froyo.

The version he posted was the same hacked one that came out around a month ago. I could install it and run it, but couldn't successfully make a video call. If he got skype video call to work on mr2 froyo, then he is very lucky because just about everyone else could not.
