There is a 4G LTE phone with GB now, what's the excuse now?
Well, part of the excuse of why the TB doesn't have GB is because people have said that it's a problem with 4G LTE. Since there is a 4G LTE phone currently for sell with GB, guess that excuse is no longer valid.

I've had GB for months... Works GREAT! Not dissapointed in the least! Sense 3.0 is awesome too. Not really ANY excuse if they were giving it ANY priority. But they're not, other newer phones coming out, we already bought ours, they see it as a privilege that we may get it at all.
LONG LIVE THE DEV COMMUNITY!

My wife got the gb ota on her Dinc today, I really couldn't tell a difference. If gb on the T-bolt doesn't update Sense, I bet you'll have a hard time knowing there's a difference between froyo and gb. Why don't you just root? You could have been using gb and sense 3.0 for months now.

Re: There is a 4G LTE phone with GB now, what's the excuse now?
Most people don't want to root, most people don't buy phones to tinker with as their hobby - they just want a phone that works out of the box as advertised.
As for the difference we will "see" with GB, If I just wanted to "see" a difference I'd just put on a difference skin. I want some performance differences, like bug fixes and increased (however so slight) battery life.Sent from my iMac using my fingers and bluetooth keyboard. - 09-08-2011, 08:10 AM #14

Re: There is a 4G LTE phone with GB now, what's the excuse now?
I didn't buy my phone to tinker, I rooted because I wanted the new features in Sense 3.0. I don't complain about every little reboot or every time another newer phone from another company gets a newer os though. If you are that worried about it, then why WOULDN'T you fix it by rooting???? My battery life is SO much better. It really is gravy.
On the other hand HTC has said the T-bolt will get gb this month. Why don't you just chill and be patient. - 09-08-2011, 08:19 AM #16Sent from my iMac using my fingers and bluetooth keyboard.

I would rather wait for something that works than have them rush an update and have a buggy mr1 debacle in my hands. Patience is the best way right now.

Re: There is a 4G LTE phone with GB now, what's the excuse now?
I'll give you that, I should have said: If you can read (and follow) instructions, rooting is gravy...
I understand your frustration about the update time line. When it boils down to it, the process on the consumer side sucks. Its the nature of the game. I can understand why HTC and Verizon wouldn't want to hurry an update (again) thats not ready. I, however, believe that if you can do something (that really is easy) to make your phone better, why wouldn't you?
The other course was very well stated: "Patience is the best way right now." - 09-08-2011, 08:51 AM #23

Re: There is a 4G LTE phone with GB now, what's the excuse now?
To root, follow these instructions:
[Auto] Root and Unroot (Windows)**Updated**5/20** w/MR1 update
READ OVER THIS a couple of times so you FULLY understand the process.
Pick and download that ROM and a Radio that works with it. (This is the hardest step because of the shear number of options.) I would suggest to start out with one of the bigger names (BAMF, Gingeritis, Liquid). They're going to be smoother roms with more support. I really like the Uber BAMF p3, so that's where I would start.
you will need to register on their site, but go here to download the rom (download pr3):
and here to download the radio (I use the latest 2.11.605.0):
!
Then follow these instructions to apply them

I think it is hilarious that if you go the droid bionic page it has a glaring typo. It says the phone has 1 gligabyte of ram lol!
