Data drop on a whim.
Gang -
There are many having this issue among several threads - and roms.
Out of no where, data just drops. Nice happy LTE indicator then just signal bars. No data. No 4G or 3G.
When I toggle the Mobile Data, it comes back. Seems to have been an issue for last 3 radio bundles and several roms (leaked GB stock to current BAMF offerings).
Did a SIM pull last night to make sure latest PRL.
Any suggestions? Could this be a bad SIM?
Thanks! - 10-04-2011, 11:13 PM #2
Re: Data drop on a whim.
I don't think its the sim because mine would be bad too. When i was on stock froyo my data dropped all the time, I updated to gb and everything worked well.
I wanted more speed so i flashed cm7 and started getting data cut outs with that. I flashed back to stock gb and it worked fine. I flashed shift ao5p hack3d and got the data cut outs too. Once again went stock and it worked fine. Flashed bamf cubed and data is still fine.
For some reason my phone only plays nice with sense roms. On aosp I wouldn't be able to text or make calls so i figured out I'm stuck with sense - 10-05-2011, 11:16 AM #3
Re: Data drop on a whim.
I never had a problem with dropped data on Froyo. I did have the issue of not getting data after leaving my home wifi. Now with GB, it switches from wifi to 4G no problem, but after a few mins, I have no data at all. I've gone into airplane mode and it doesn't work. The only thing that brings back data for me is a reboot.

Re: Data drop on a whim.
I suppose there are a zillion threads about this, but you might want to have a look at this one: [FAVORATE RADIO]
Near as I can tell about 98 percent of TBolt owners have this issue. I'm sure we'll hear from the other 2 percent (yeah, I just made up the numbers
), but it is very prevalent. I'm on the latest GB OTA (MR3, I suppose) and the radios provided with it are the best for me, so far.
Looks there's been 3 OTAs (official update releases) that updated radios so far, beyond the original. TB original, MR1, MR2 and GB (MR3).
