Well, it looks like every 4G phone has very similar data connection issues. Obviously there is no single culpret becuase the phone's radios have to interoperate with the VZW towers. So... it's all about compatibility/negotiations between the two.

    Considering that...

There are always growing pains with new technology, especially wireless/cellular considering all the things that can cause problems with the signal transmission/reception. In reality, there is simply no other practical way to roll out new technology than in stages. It's just the way the cookie crumbles so to speak. For me as a tech enthusiast, I'm ok with being on the early adopter roll out train regardless of those growing pains as I understand the potential issues and by nature have the patience to deal with them.

    Actually, they make perfect sense.

I love the speed of 4G so I'd say it's totally worth the slight pain that it has been for me.

You only have extremes for options. No options between "OMG 4G is down a lot" and "4G is perfect"

I do not think they released it too soon. It's amazing how well things work in a lab/controlled environment, but when you release it into the wild everything goes crazy. Even if they waited for a second generation radio, there would still be problems. There are always going to be growing pains.

Also, from the standpoint of making money as a company, they cannot wait around forever to get something perfect. A lot of companies spent a lot of money in research and development into first-generation 4G radios, and they need to recoup their costs else they won't be companies for long!

Not too soon. If you wait for new technology to work perfectly before releasing it , it would never get released.

That's what these comments are for. What's yours?

Most likely... but its a whole new network so there was bound to be problems. We were basically the test subjects with the TB being the first LTE phone but I don't mind. I like being a part of new technology.

For me it doesn't matter... 4G service is the same price as 3G so if there's problems I can't really be annoyed too much... just switch over to 3G. I would have bought the TB even if it were only a 3G phone. To me its the best phone Verizon has right now with or without 4G. Hopefully they can get their network perfected soon.... but yea, I think they were a little in over their heads with the LTE network. That's new technology for you... never know what could happen.

I only get 3G were I am. I am just a couple of miloes from 4G. But I got the TB for the rest of the features. So I see no 'flaws' in 4G from my point of view, it is just icing on the cake when I travel to a 4G area.

just like any technology there has to be a trial and error period...personally I would rather work thru this than wait. I came from Blackberry and I loved my Blackberry...That being said, going to a HTC T-Bolt is like going from a bicycle to a jet plane.....4G is the way to go......I will never go back .....

I would be ok with it if the 3G radios and hardware were ok.

I keep my 4G phone in 3G/CDMA-eHRPD mode 100% of the time because 4G eats up too much battery.

However, in 3G mode, it is STILL unstable.

This is unacceptable to me... I don't really care whether it's because it's on EV-DO or eHRDP, to the end customer, it's still a loss of quality between my old 3G phone and my new 3G phone.
