Streaming Music pausing

Hi All...great forum here. Lots of good information. I have a strange one.It seems that no matter which streaming music I use, Pandora, Slacker, Rdio, MOG or Spotify, they all seem to pause whatever is playing at various times. I have no idea why. This started about a month ago and I have been trying to figure it out. The other odd thing is that it does not happen with Rhapsody. Any help would be really appreciated.

Just to get the obvious question out of the way first...

Do you have a good data signal? As it is a "stream", if you have a poor data signal, you will get pauses as the media buffers.

This is, for example, why I have Slacker Radio with the Plus subscription so I can cache stations...otherwise I'd never be able to use it on the subway.

I've had this problem since the first gingerbread ota. I've noticed it happening when I come in range of a wifi network. It also pauses when playing music off my SD card when using doubletwist. It is becoming very annoying lately.

mine too. I use slacker, the pause started after gb update, I haven't figured out why yet but it's been only a minor pain and it doesn't happen too often.

I also have noticed issues when playing music off of the SD card. It will just sometimes stop altogether. I also have noticed that the phone will no longer play .mp4 videos....

Now I need to find an app that can play .mp4s...

Might be because finding a weak wifi signal may knock it off data signal. Try keeping wifi off.

I don't think it's loosing signal or anything. It doesn't close the program. I can instantly resume playing without any buffering streaming or off of SD card. I've also noticed that video playback, of any kind, is all but useless. YouTube through the browser, the youtube app, video on my SD card that I shot with the phone is garbage. The audio plays but the video is frozen. It's like the software is taking a step back. Here's hoping that Verizon has mercy on us Thunderbolt early adopters and let us upgrade to the Nexus Galaxy.

Im going to try a full wipe on my phone tonight. I have not done one since I bought it on launch day.

Well I have tried it with both wifi and 3G with the same result. The funny thing is that in Slacker it actually shows the song as being paused. I agree it's not a huge pain but is annoying. If you can try Rhapspdy. It never does it in there. I probably just screwed myself!

I'm thinking it's got something to do with the headphone jack. I thought I saw an option somewhere to pause when unplugging headphones.

Do you have Juice Defender or any similar apps installed? They will obviously cut off your music stream when it kicks in. You can avoid this with the paid version.

My droid RAZR cuts out almost rhythmically about 30 sec intervals on slacker and another streaming service on wifi on 3g on 4g no differences about a 1sec pause most times without missing anything on bluetooth or headset havenot tested speaker.
