So I have been spending more and more time customizing my TB as of late, and while I am not rooted (yet) I am looking to try out a new launcher. Right now I am just using the stock 2.1 sense, which I like, but I really want to change that dock at the bottom. Just getting tired of the look and feel, and I don't like any of the other skins that come with the TB except for the standard HTC sense skin. I like the glassed over looks to the HTC widgets.

I don't mind paying for a launcher, but want to just get the best one for my money. I have looked at launcher pro as well as ADW, but not sure which is the best bang for my buck, and is not laggy or power drain, etc.

I honestly just want to change the look of some of my icons and replace the sense icon dock with something else. I just like the look to some of the icons I have seen on several other android phones and would like to replace the stock HTC icons with something different.

Any recommendations?

I tried ADW which for some reason I didnt like. I also tried Launcher Pro (bought license) for awhile, and while I did enjoy using it, the past few months I have stuck with Go Launcher. It allows for 3 seperate dock rows with 5 apps assigned to each row. Its changed by sliding left or right to access another row, just like the others. The thing I really like about GO is the dev team also makes widgets for its launcher like FB and contacts etc. And, like all the other launchers, its also themeable, with many MANY on the market, some free some paid.

I'm using go launcher pro right now and like it a lot. I had issues with sense having to load every time I went back to the home screen. I've had nothing but snappy response from go launcher pro. And the app drawer customizations are great. I've been noticing my battery life isn't as good lately, but I don't think it's because of go launcher pro because I've been running it since well before the battery issues. And, go launcher pro is free. I'd say it's worth trying out just for that reason.

I've tried a lot of launchers bit I always seem to come back to GoLauncherEX. It's just that good, and is completely free. Claystone Launcher is looking interesting, but I want to let it mature a little before I try it out.

Thanks for the input. I downloaded GoLauncerEX and I am playing around with it now. So far so good, it did what I wanted it to do and that was replace the bottom dock.

I will mess around with it more after I have time and download some more skins and widgets.

Widget Lockscreen is pretty much what started it all for me. I saw the ICS lock screen and decided it was time to change the look of my TB. I waited way tooooo long to actually do any good customization to my phone.

Go does everything ADW does and more, and you don't have to pay for Go like you do for ADW pro.

The final decision will be yours based on preference. But my launcher of choice is LauncherPro Plus.

Launcher Pro Plus is my launcher on any phone I get till something better comes along. Love the multiple docks, love the minimalist default icons. Love the calendar widget. Love how fast and snappy it made my cheapo Optimus V. Before launcher pro it was laggy and sometimes unresponsive.

Just have to say this forum has really encouraged me to try new things... And I appreciate it. This thread in particular had me trying 4 different launchers while at work. I've settled on QQLauncher and really like it.

One question: Does anyone know if there's a way to change the icons for that particular launcher?

I have tried many launchers.

Go Launcher EX is easily my favorite. So many widgets and themes to keep your phone looking new for months. Most of the themes are free!

I also recommend GO SMS for your test messaging needs. Way more customization than the boring stock messaging app.
