Yes it would be covered by Asurion. Any damage or loss is covered by your assurion policy as long as it's active on your account.

I dropped mine in early July but didn't file til late Aug. and got my replacement the next day.

My sisters Droid Incredible (provided by Asurian a few months ago) wouldn't do an over the air update and so they ended up giving her a brand new Droid Incredible 2 for free. The best part was, we called there at 8pm central time on a Friday and they did Saturday deliver. We had it first thing in the next morning.
