Verizon now offers 300mb/$20, 4gb/$30, 10gb/$50 plans

Well, i realize most of you are on unlimited data, so this won't affect you, but for those of you who aren't on unlimited, you can now get 4gb for $30, or for the light users, 300mb for $20.

just wondering if current customers can go to this plan? upgraded my wife a few months ago and got stuck with the 2gb $30 plan. she has the samsung fascinate

YES. I think you'll need to call in and ask for it specifically.

Edit: Shoot! I guess the Samsung Fascinate isn't 4G... didn't know that. It does say just 4G phones.

I can confirm that on the web site it will offer this to any smartphone holding customer (in or out of contract) however I don't know if it will complain if your in-contract phones drop to this since it is often stipulated that you only get promo pricing when you subscribe to the 29.99+ plans... However for my wife's out of contract Eris, i was able to drop from the unlimited (she has never ever used more than 300 mb on any smartphone she's had) to the 300mb plan, saving us 9.99 a month.

I have to say that this is a step in the right direction for Verizon. would it have been more fair to make the $20 plan either 1gb or 500mb, or maybe a 300mb plan $15 (since it's a scant 15% of the 2GB you get for $10 more)? Sure it would. But it's a step... Next I am praying they offer a cheaper texting plan. Maybe my shift of all my phones to a MVNO won't have to happen if Verizon gets their prices in step with reality.

i just chatted with one of them and they said ONLY 4G phones can. in my account, i have the unlimited data, but under my number only does it say i am eligible to double the data.

Weird, it let showed me the option for both my Fascinate and Eris, and let me go through with it on the Eris (i am not quite ready to give up unlimited data to save 9.99/mo)... If they call me saying the changes didnt go through, they better be ready to be reamed a new ******** because if they are offering a cheaper price to 4g customers and not 3g customers, today will probably be the last day I have ANY verizon plans in my name.

for clarification, the 300 mb plan is for any one, 4gb for $ 30 is only for 4GLTE smartphones

I upped my 5 to 10 today right from the MyVerizon app. It took all of about 2 minutes. Lol

Same with my account. Only eligible with the Thunderbolt because it's LTE. My wife's Droid 2 Global can't get it.

It worked for me and they even back dated my data plan a day because on the night of the 7th, I went over my 2GB. First month with Verizon and already love them more then AT&T!!
