Can't boot into recovery using volume/power...

...unless I do a battery pull. Then, when I shut down and try again, nothing. Another battery pull, and it works. Just to be clear, I'm holding down the power button and volume down rocker. I know I'm doing it right because it works after the battery pull! I just rooted the phone today, but it was acting this way before the root (actually I hoped the root would fix it!). I can't find any other Thunderbolt users with this problem.

every time u retry take off the battery and put it back in... make sure u press vol down first then power button . hold them untill u reach hboot

u can get into recovery with the rom manager app

Make sure you don't have Fast boot enabled. From homescreen: Menu/Settings/Power/Uncheck Fast boot.
