    Default Free tethering question

Hi, I would like to know how to use my Thunderbolt to tether to my Kindle Fire. Neither device is rooted. Thanks in advance.

If the kindle supports Bluetooth internet, then you can use foxfi .if the kindle doesn't support Bluetooth, then you will have to root the thunderbolt.

Thank you dpham00, I was hoping to avoid having to root my phone because it just seems complicated but I see now that I don't have a choice. I guess I better start looking into rooting.

I rooted the other day after having the phone since the release. Was done in 30 minutes (at most) with a custom rom installed. The phone's so much faster and without all of the verizon bloat on it, it just runs so much smoother. Running ThunderShed-v1.5 with the Imoseyon 6.1 kernel.

Just follow the tutorials and maybe search youtube for some videos (its what i did) and it will all go pretty smoothly.

As annoying as the "verizon bloat" is, that's not really what's slowing your phone down (at least not in most cases). Usually the improved performance is based on the custom kernel, not to mention the fact that I believe that just a simple cache clearing from time to time can make a big difference.

It is very important to understand the risks in rooting before jumping in...but the fact is the the procedure itself is not very difficult -- just be sure to follow the procedures carefully!

And once your rooted most devs include a feathering app right in there rom so chances are you won't need to download any teathering app from the play store. If you run into any issues feel free to drop into the tbolt root section and we can get you straightend out.

Thanks everyone for the input, I will check out the thread for rooting. I myself have had the Thunderbolt since the release and I didn't care too much for all the crap Verizon forces me to keep, but not quite comfortable enough to attempt rooting.
