It's intermittent for me, and has been for a long time. However , it does seem to be missing them a lot more frequently since the last update.

it has gotten worst i think they have done 2 or 3 upgrades maybe they will get it straight

I think you uncheck your notification in Fb its located on the settings.

Not only am I have that problem, but I'm also getting notifications for things that I don't want to be notified about - like someone posting a status update. That I don't need, but private messages I do want to be notified of. All settings are correctly set so I should get notifications only for private messages. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app - no change.

I have found that with Honeycomb, the newest application updates do not support push notifications for select devices.
