Create shortcut to "Sound set" on home screen?
Hello all
Been a lurker for well over a year, attempted to switch from BB to Droid about a year ago, didn't work for me and went back to BB. I just picked up a used TB and I'm giving it another shot. With that said, please forgive me if my terminology if off.
One of the major downsides (IMO) to Droid is the lack of robust sound profiles. I discovered the "Sound set" option under "Personalize>Personal sound>Sound set" that looks like it might work for me. What I'm after is an easy way to set the phone into my version of bedside mode which means alarm clock, phone & SMS notifications ONLY. No email, no facebook, no battery fully charged, no calendar. It looks like Sound Set may do that for me. Which brings me to my question... I can not find a way to make that show on home screen as a widget, shortcut, or app. Can that be done somehow?
Phone specs: VZW branded Thunderbolt, Android v2.3.4, HTC Sense v2.1
TIA

Long press on an empty slot on the screen (not on an icon), select add widget, scroll down to Settings, and select Profile.
If you set the phone to silent, it will not silence the alarm. If you go into the alarm clock, click on menu and then setting, double check that "Alarm in silent mode" is checked. I think that should set you up how you want it. - 06-02-2012, 03:54 PM

There may be an app that lets you control the sound better. I've just never needed it so haven't gone looking. Have you looked around the market place at all?

Even better, Toggle Profiles.
I use Toggle profiles to automatically set the volume (mostly silent) at night. I just put in a rules that says between 11pm and 7am, if on charge, silence the alerts. I have another rule to turn them off during a meeting. A rule to turn them UP in the car
It is all automatic. I hardly give it a thought.
It also can control WiFi and BT, plus screen brightness, and much more. - 06-03-2012, 01:51 PM #8

Also check out Llama. Similar functionality to Toggle Profiles. Once configured, fully automatic.
