Default New extended battery won't get 4g

I just got a new extended battery and whenever I use it I can't get 3g or 4g signal. My original works just fine but I wanted something that lasts longer. Anyway, I get 4g fine with stock battery. Don't understand why I'm not getting signal with extended battery. Any suggestions?

The Thunderbolt's 4G antenna is actually located in the battery cover. It's possible that your extended battery either is a cheap one that does not have the antenna built in, or a good one that the contacts are not working properly on.

Look for two gold contacts up near the camera flash.

I figured that's what they were. Any way to fix without getting a new cover or battery?

The GPS antenna is also in the battery cover. I am not sure if you can get an OEM HTC extended battery cover by itself. It is included when you buy the extended battery.

As Unobtanium says, you can see if someone has an OEM extended battery cover without the battery (maybe their battery wore out, etc).

If your replacement/extended battery came without the contacts on it, it's very cheap indeed and you need to think seriously about whether you want to trust to not fail and go all plasma cutter straight through your Thunderbolt.

If it's OEM or through a good company like Seidio, then they should replace the cover with one that actually works for you.

check the 4g connection points. If it isn't touching, then you can extend it using wires, solder or whatever. Of course, if it was bought from verizon, then it should have warranty.
