Can control music via radio controls but NO SOUND??

I have my Thunderbolt successfully paired to my 2010 Mazda3 and have previously had no issues streaming music from any app (Pandora, Winamp, etc). I recently had to do a Factory Reset and still have the phone paired with the car with no issues. When I switch the car to "BT Audio", the audio continues to go through the phone yet I can control evrything such as next track, play, pause through the radio controls?? It's not the car because the g/f's iPhone plays through the car just fine. I do have Waze and have it selected to route through the phone's speaker. But would that effect all other apps??

Someone please help as this is super frustrating.
