    Default Cracked My Screen...Options?

Dropped phone, cracked screen, phone still works but the cracks are big. First time I've ever broken a phone. No insurance.

What's my best option? Replace it myself? Sweet talk VZ into an early upgrade somehow? I've had my TBolt for like exactly one year with no major issues, just the occasional bug you see here.

Depending on where you are, there are some cell phone repair places. I have never used one, but it is probably worth looking into.

Take your situation into consideration(no insurance), repair it yourself or bring it to repair shop may suit you better. If you are skilled and brave enough, you could buy another screen on web and follow some repair guide videos in Youtube to fix your Tbolt. This can save you much. If you are worried that DIY repair may damage your phone worse, go to a repair shop is a better choice. Of cource, you could also buy a new phone instead.

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. There are lots of places that sell replacement screens/digitizers that aren't terribly expensive, and lots of YouTube videos that walk you through it. I almost went that route, but then found a used TB on craigslist for only a few bucks more.

If there's a place like this near Denver, that would be awesome. I'm not quite ready to shell out a ton of cash on a new phone, and I do like the TBolt. I'm also wanting to wait for the next good HTC phone, although the SIII is pretty tempting. When I get some free time I'm going to see if I can get them to do a 1-year upgrade on my account, but based on past customer service experience I'm not banking on it.

I was in Radio Shack over the weekend to buy a battery and they had a sign for screen repair/replacement.

I stopped my phone and cracked my screen also. Like yours it works but it does lag at moments. I have insurance though. Question is if I want them to send me another bolt or try and upgrade. Any new phones due to come out soon on VZ or is the SIII the best shot still.
Don't get me wrong I love the Bolt and Sense (call me crazt) and wont mind the replacement, but if there is something out now that I can upgrade to...I'm open to look at it.

There's a place in Denver; UBreakIFix. is their website.

I've never used them but I learned about them when my son's Ipod needed a new screen. That one I sent off to missionrepair.com in Kansas.

My phone is dead...won't turn on....tried 4 different batteries. I am well versed in rooting and flashing (probably have flashed 100+ times). So, I know it isn't my skill level, it is/was a buggy phone.

More than likely they won't replace your phone with another TBolt. They are at the end of lifecycle. I called Verizon yesterday and talked to a real nice rep (Lydia) and told her the story. She asked what phone I wanted for a replacement because Tbolts aren't an option to be sent. She said any phone but the S3. I said flippently "Droid Razr Maxx". She said "Um, ok, sounds good".

So, with that said, you might not have the option of getting a Bolt....my daughter is getting a refurb REZOUND as a replacement from Asurion. I would try Verizon first.
With this RAZR, I get a close shave

There is a place like 2 blocks from me. It looks kinda shady, not sure if I would trust it, but I'm sure you can find one w/ good reviews on yelp. I've seen some youtube videos on how to replace the screen. Doesn't look too hard if you have the right tools and practice it a few times. My guess is it should cost $100-150.
