Well if those specs are correct, its not looking so good...But it hasnt even been released so who knows if theyre true. It could be a test/dummy model. Things are never complete until final production. I dont think they would release 2.1 on a new phone like that.

I thought it was suppose to have 2.3. That would be a big typo. I can see confusing 2.2.1 with 2.1.2.....but not a 3.

another reason to doubt this article, HTC does have a history of really great phones some not spectacular, but for the price and what ya get its still really good, so Why would a company like HTC showcase a less than spec phone.
plus as I noted before, those quadrant scores are pretty awesome for a phone with those specs fresh outta tha box, Id be likely to believe those from a rooted phone or one that is showcase worthyIm T rop per and I approve this message
Thanks for watching = T

Just got this email from a friend about this article and thought I would copy/paste it here as food for thought:
*begin email*
"If this ends up being true, then this phone is basically an American version of the new European Desire HD -- which, if you guys have read recent reviews, IS NOT A BAD PHONE!!
A phone like this with a 1 gig proc and 768 megs RAM that can hit a quadrant of 2,000 out of the box (without using the I/O tweak) is NOT a low-end crappy device. And the only real complaint with the Desire HD is that it has junk battery life - something this phone will be able to get around since the T-bolt can expand for an extended battery while the Desire HD cannot. This phone has way better specs than the EVO - a phone that owners say is still the best 4G phone in America. You guys have gotten spoiled
Look, we're all avid followers of the tech community. You guys all know that there's always something bigger, faster, and better on the horizon with technology. Your expectations were too high; you guys expected a late-2011 model, today. And before you guys mention that other phones will have dual-core procs, keep in mind that those phones still aren't expected to drop for another 6 months (so don't compare apples with oranges). And by the time those phones drop in the summer, there will be an even better phone on the horizon and you guys will want THAT one immediately.
At some point with tech you just have to jump in, knowing full well that there's something better already being cooked up just around the corner. If you guys wanna wait for dual core and a higher res screen, then wait. Meanwhile, I'll pick this guy up when it drops shortly after CES and enjoy the highest-end android device any American carrier has ever offered"

I don't really trust that source. It could be true, but I'm not 100% sold that it is (especially since it says "android 2.1.2" - typo or not). I'd really wait until HTC officially announces the phone before dismissing the phone. Take these specs with a grain of salt (although many have guessed that the TB would basically be the Desire HD, just as the Dinc was basically the Desire).
Those specs really aren't bad, especially if the phone is coming out this month. Yes, we will probably see some dual core devices at CES, but those won't be released until much later in the year. I was hoping for a 1.2 ghz processor, but oh well.
No one said that except the specs posted on some European site (which was pure fantasy, they probably won't be possible until summer-ish). There was a very slim chance that it would ship with Gingerbread. - 01-05-2011, 12:17 PM #21
I'm hoping that the specs are not correct and if they are looks like a few more months with my Inc which I love.

I will take these specs with a huge grain of salt. The phone will likely be officially announced in the next couple of days, and then we can see whether these specs hold true or not. The fact that we haven't seen spec leaks anywhere else (except for those European ones that were pure fantasy) leads me to believe this is false.

2.1? Impossible. Not having 2.3 is enough for me to think twice about it. Not having 2.2 is unthinkable. That much at least must be wrong. I would also need it to be dual core. And what are "hTC maps and navigation?"
Please use the Thanks button below and to the right. - 01-05-2011, 12:30 PM #25
The "maps and navigation" thing also leads me to believe this is false (or just a sloppy error). Also: non-vanilla devices probably won't start dropping with 2.3 for a little while yet (keep in mind that no device but the Nexus S has it so far). Also, I don't think we'll see dual core for a while yet. Yes, there will likely be plenty of dual core devices announced at CES, but they probably won't actually be released until mid-year.
