I hope it is since it can fall back to 3g when needed. If it is global capable, I will be the first in line. I am hardcore Blackberry but they have fallen asleep at the wheel!

Sorry, it's not global. It already has two radios, one for CDMA and one for LTE, There wouldn't be any more room for a 3rd radio (GSM). Now technically LTE is being implemented by many carriers around the world now, but most of them aren't using the 700mhz band, so the simple answer is no.

Wow, then looks like I'm staying with BB for awhile. My Storm 2 works everywhere in the world and the new touchscreen BB will be a larger 3.7 inch touchscreen so I guess that will do for now.....

interesting....

The 4G sim card on VZW however is compatible with networks in the US...well at the least me putting one in my BB worked fine. The card let it fall back to Emergency calling on AT&T.

I wish it was global as well.

I'm planning on keeping my BlackBerry 9630 for global use (which isn't much).

My question is: can the HTC be used overseas on wifi to access data?

Same here.

Yes, wifi is totally independent of the cell network.
