Conundrum- How do I get my thunderbolt?
All of Verizon's policy changes have put me in quite the bind! I was eligible for an early upgrade (pay $20 and get new contract price) and had to do so before the new upgrade policy went in to effect, so I did so on Jan 15th. Went from Blackberry storm to Samsung Fascinate. I love my droid, but I want the thunderbolt.
By buying on January 15th, I was also grandfathered in to the 30-day return policy, which set me up perfectly for the Valentine's day release of the Thunderbolt. Now that it has been delayed until the 24th, is there a way I can still get the Thunderbolt?
Can I return my fascinate on the 14th, for an iPhone? Then can I return my iPhone within 14 days to get the thunderbolt when it is released? Or can I just return my fascinate and reactivate my storm and become eligible again?
Any advice would help! - 02-11-2011, 09:46 AM #2

Return it and get a pre-paid phone or whatever if it's that important.
Call their customer sales and see what they can do for you. - 02-11-2011, 10:36 AM

Man that sucks,..why didn't you just wait? My understanding of the new upgrade policy was that it didn't effect you until after you upgraded.

I'd just return it and use your storm until the Thunderbolt comes out.

I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with verizon customer service and since it was an early upgrade not a NE2 upgrade, I had to do it before the 15th. Apparently if you have ever used an early upgrade which I did to move up from the storm to storm 2, then when they changed the policy effective 1/16/11, you could not be grandfathered in.
If I do return the fascinate and just use my bb storm, then do I lose my upgrade eligibility all together? - 02-11-2011, 05:36 PM #11
Add a line and get the TBolt. Then get the dumbest phone you can find ($20 or so on EBay) and switch the TB to your number and put the dumbphone on the added line. It will cost you $10 bucks a month, but you have your TB and access to another number to make calls that you don't want to use your "Real" phone for...

I believe it was for those whose upgrade did not go into effect until after Jan 15th (or whatever the date was)
