Order Online - SIM Card?
I was about to pre-order from Wirefly, but then I realized, don't you need a new 4G SIM card from Verizon?
Just wondering how Wirefly will provide the SIM card t link to your account, etc. Maybe I'm just an ***** and have no idea what I'm talking about lol
Just looking for an answer/some help, thanks! - 03-15-2011, 10:51 PM #2
I would assume it would come with the phone...? I could be wrong. But what sthe point of ordering it from an online retailer only to have to go to VZW and get a SIM???

Yeah that's why I'm just gonna wait and order it off of Verizon's site. I'm sure they send it with the SIM card and everything according to your plan.
I'd rather spend the extra $50 or whatever and feel confident with my purchase.
To answer the question, no idea, found it online lol *changes it now* - 03-15-2011, 11:20 PM #4

You mean from Verizon? I've just never ordered from Wirefly and was wondering if they would actually have the ability to contact Verizon and get the correct SIM, etc.
Then again I might just wait until next week with CTIA happening March 22nd with all the new phones being announced. Of course that's why Best Buy is having this "promo weekend" till the 20th, since next week all this news of upcoming better phones will probably be flowing around and people will think twice about jumping on the TB.
But I want the TB so bad! >_< - 03-16-2011, 01:14 AM #6
I was just about to post a thread but saw this first. It's a good question to wonder about. Considering this is the first phone for verizon that uses a sim card (for 4g) you'd think it would come with a sim card with it, much like how any of the global phones come with one. If not i would hope you could use the phone (sans 4g) w/out having a sim in for awhile.

Stay frosty, guys! Wirefly sells the Verizon 4G LTE Cards which use the EXACT SAME SIM's that the Thunderbolt uses. Unless Wirefly makes a mistake, they'll include the SIM card in the same box with the phone or in the package that the phone was shipped in.

Let's assume you got the phone and the SIM card... worst case scenario, assuming phone and SIM card are both in tact and functioning, you would have to call Verizon and give them the IMEA # and then the SIM S/N. They will associate the SIM with your account and you'll be all good to go about 10-15 minutes later.
You could go to the store, but VZW customer service will be able to do it just fine. - 03-16-2011, 08:04 AM #11
Other thing to remember is that the VZW stores will have plenty of SIM cards. So, even if you didn't get one, you'd have to go down to the store and pick one up. They won't run out of SIM cards. I'd be WAY more worried about getting a phone than being able to find a VZW sim Card.

I order from wirefly and cost me $219.98 no tax and next day delivery. I feel pretty confident. Verizon still has to bill me for the activation but still a very good deal. I saved more than just 50 bucks if add in tax is more like $70. So now I have $60 dollars to go to a seido x active case or a commuter case when they come out.

Which is what I'm doing.

My upgrade is still 9 months away and my Droid X is really pissing me off with its random freezing, no signal half the time (I live in Boston and all my other friends on Verizon always have at least 3 bars), and no customization.
/sigh I love blowing $700 lol - 03-16-2011, 09:09 AM #16

All my world phones from VZW came with A sim card. You need to place it in the slot and you were ready to go. Since it was world phone needed a plan for it to work though, but that won't apply here.
