I heard that you need to check the Voltage of the plug/charger though? Anybody know if there is any truth to this? Don't want to kill this battery in the first month....

You should be fine -- these were standardized a few years ago. Samsung was the last one to get on board with microUSB. Only Apple uses a different connector (but the same USB protocol) these days.

The BlackBerry and Motorola chargers are interchangeable. I've never seen an htc phone have an issue with either one.

Just make sure it is a 5V charger and put out close to 1A (1000mA). More than 5V could be bad, less than 1A won't charge very quickly and could drain faster than being charged if being actively used.

I've been using my Blackberry charger for some time now... and mostly a USB cable or two from my PC to my Android... they work great.
