Check out Fring. I don't have any personal experience with it. I believe it used to support video calls with Skype contacts, but then Skype blocked that.

fring- make FREE Mobile calls, video calls &live chat to other fringsters, GTalk, AIM, Facebook, Yahoo and others.

Yahoo messenger works fine, tried it with a buddy on an iphone and it worked great.. You have to download the plug in for messenger to get the video option..

To get the video chat more main stream google needs to update its google chat to work with video on mobile phones. Then android to android video would be great and android to PC would be to. Then the next BIG hurdle would be get that working in apples ios and we can all chat!

There are indications out there that GTalk will support video chat in 2.4 which is also Gingerbread I believe.

Does "not that bad" mean it used the front- or rear-facing camera?
