Storm2 to TB- anybody using tether

I know this is about an app, but I am looking for feedback specifically to the TB. On my Storm 2 I have used the app tether and it works like a charm. No $30 a month for Verizon tethering. I also know hotspots are free until 5-15. I am looking past that date. Tether shows it works on Android. My question- has anybody used it on t TB and does the TB have to be rooted? I emailed tether.com and they said it would work but I am looking for some first hand feedback. My TB shows up Monday. I can see it is in Honolulu ready to be Maui bound on Monday. TIA and Aloha

There are some tether apps i have read about, i havent tried any yet. I think that 4G might be different, that someone smart needs to look at it, and that verizon might make some changes on the 15th of May that will require some engineering to work around - just a guess on my part, but i plan on enjoying the free use till then, then looking around.
