Hiding SSID for Mobile Hotspot

I was wondering if there was a way to block my SSID from being broadcast using the mobile hotspot? I am not rooted yet (waiting for the one click) but didnt know if there was an app or setting to turn this on or off. Thanks for any help with this.

No.. there's no way of hiding the SSID from being broadcasted.

Just make sure you lock it down with security, all you can do.

Hah, along the same lines, don't put anything like 4G hotspot or LTE Thunderbolt. I'm sure you already know this considering you're looking for a way to hide it, and you refered to it as an SSID instead of "network name". But as a piece of advice for others so people looking to leach off of it don't pick yours out of 10 other networks

its called beaconing and unfortunately there is no way to turn it off... When we can root there will be a way to stop turn off beaconing.
