2 or more crashes a day? Should I return the TB?
I'm experiencing 2 or more crashes/reboots a day. I thought it might be an app, WatchDroid, but I disabled it and still crashing.
I've disabled a lockscreen replacement, Widget Locker. I'll see if it still crashes through tomorrow.
Yesterday it crashed and froze in the HTC boot screen. I had to pull the battery?
Scanning the forums I haven't seen anything similar.
All my current Apps worked fine on my OG Droid. Including WatchDroid and Widget Locker.
Should I exchange the TB? - 03-23-2011, 09:14 PM #2

It's not your dream phone.
It's the one after that!©

Mine rebooted randomly today on me...I hope it does not start doing it all the time.

If a factory reset doesn't fix the issue, then take it back. VZW will do a factory reset to troubleshoot anyway.

It would be pretty hard to demonstrate a random reboot. All you can do is talk to them. There usually pretty reasonable on replacements if needed.

Last night I was playing Angry Birds for awhile when the phone suddenly just turned off no reboot. The odd thing was when this happened the amber charge light came on for about 20 seconds after it shut down but the phone was NOT plugged in. The phone turned on fine after that. This was the only time this has happened.

The browser constantly crashes for me. Mostly when I try to load flash.
I should now be referred to as "ThunderMaster" - 03-23-2011, 10:06 PM #10
I've had a few random crashes and force closes of known stable apps. I've done one factory rest already. I had one reboot happen while using the camera, the app crashed out and then trying to open it again I'd get a frozen image then it finally rebooted after a few times.
also got one while playing chess.com. I think that one may have been a loss of 4g network while I was using it.
I may do one more factory reset and if I have another reboot I'll take it in. - 03-23-2011, 10:21 PM

OP, please report back after you try a factory reset. That seems to be the consensus as to what to try before you take it back for a replacement.

Today I had my phone turned on beside me while I slept. I woke up to check some things and the phone was unresponsive. It turns out the phone had turned itself off. Battery was 62%, so the battery did not go dead.

I disabled both suspicious apps yesterday and still had a restart last night. So I factory reset.
All my Market apps reloaded on their own, after signing into Gmail. I didn't even open the Market.
I didn't activate or launch any of the apps so hopefully that's clean enough for testing today. I'll see if I have any restarts through the day. - 03-24-2011, 06:43 AM #17

The only time my ThunderBolt has locked up and then rebooted on me, I was streaming a music video via YouTube app, and while the video was still playing I had tried to switch to a Web browser. Locked up, then crashed a minute later.
Haven't had any other OS shutdowns.
Though IMDB, MoviePhone, AirAttack HD, and TuneWiki apps have had forced shutdowns. - 03-24-2011, 08:41 PM #21
I haven't had any reboots or force close issues. Not many apps on mine yet since I was kind of hoping for Unrevoked to come along this week. It could be a while so I will likely just install and move on.

12 hours with new TB. Left it on over night with wifi on. No restarts or force closes yet.
I have all the apps on it that I had on the other TB and my OG Droid. Except WatchDroid. Still don't think it's WatchDroid though. Restarts occurred with it disabled.
Must have been that handset. Will definitely post if I experience a restart. - 03-26-2011, 09:04 AM

38 Hours with ZERO restarts and ZERO app force closes with a new TB!
I've loaded all apps but WatchDroid. Only because I don't need it right now. I still don't think it was WatchDroid. Restarts occurred with it disabled. I've never needed to exchange a device before. This was definitely a defective device issue. - 03-26-2011, 12:21 PM #24
Just had my thunderbolt reboot on me while on the phone call with somebody. First time this has happened had the phone since the 18th of March with no problem.
