I hate these threads. They make me jealous and I always have to check my phone. lol Come on Raleigh. Thought about driving the couple hours to Charlotte this weekend to test it out but then I'd probably want to move.

11.8 down and 29.3 up... I saw it reach about 15 down for about 3 secs, is speedtest.net app still the best to use? It had the closest server to me, in Tallahassee, being in Kansas?

The upload speeds on the app are busted. Try in the browser or tethered.

Did you receive any letters or contact from Verizon they were launching with a launch date in your area or was it just done blindly. Because I was told when I asked they would be giving each area launch dates and contacting customers in those regions. So if it goes away they might just be testing it and getting ready for a full launch if you had no contact about it.

Just did speedtest.net website test from the phone and got 14.97 down and 1.65 up

In my experience, the most accurate speed test is: speakeasy.net/speedtest
I should now be referred to as "ThunderMaster" - 03-24-2011, 05:15 PM

It went out again about 10 mins ago and hasn't come back yet... i dunno whats goin on

The download speed on the speedtest app is ALSO not accurate btw. It reads too low. Speakeasy.net/speedtest will show 24mbit while the speedtest app only showed 8, this was in memphis. In denver the speedtest app only showed 3 and speakeasy.net/speedtest was showing 12.
Very envious of you guys with 4g. I'm in a small town in alabama and I probably won't get 4g until 2012.... Maybe I will move to birmingham, they should have it this year. - 03-24-2011, 05:29 PM #22
Welcome to the world of fast speeds, and even faster battery drain!
j/k Congrats!
