Macbook Airs Murder ThunderBolts?!?!?
So this morning I have my phone on a shelf above my macbook air. My cat jumps up on the surface and knocks the TB off the shelf and on to the edge of the macbook air, which apparently, has REALLY sharp edges. So, I am standing there, right? I react quickly and try and grab it and only makes it come in contact with the sharp edges of the macbook more and eventually, I can't catch it and I let it drop all the way on to the hardwood floor. There are now dents and gnashes on the aluminum, kickstand, back cover, and sides. I know this is from the edges of the macbook. *Sigh*, At this point I look at my phone in dismay and realize because I am not reacting, I'm in shock. BRAND NEW PHONE, mulled! Luckily, the screen wasn't affected very much. I realize what just happened, and I'm practically shaking. I keep thinking, OMG, its like $600 for a new one!!!! I realize I have the insurance, calm down, and go online to see what the insurance can do for me. I realize I can replace it for $99 and I stopped having a panic attack. Yes, I realize that my phone didn't break. But I am very OCD when it comes to keeping my gadgets nice and I like to be able to resell them at upgrade time. I always keep my phones naked because I think a case ruins the experience and I am super careful and have never done anything like this or even ever dropped my phone like once. When this new one comes tomorrow, Otterbox defender ASAP.
I never realized how sharp the edges on a macbook are. Steve Jobs is EVIL!! He probably designed my macbook just to murder my TB. UGH! Haha!
So, I thought I would just share this incident and vent a little. Sorry for the drama!
PLEASE, NO COOL STORY BRO's!

Is it rooted if so you can unroot. Call vzw and say your having one of the numerous issues that plagues this phone (not mine personally) have them troubleshoot to no avail and they may replace it. Should be under warranty without using insurance. I paid full retail so i will take any cheaper option i can. It was this way with BB's i have never tried this with android. But it should be replacable under warranty. Good luck.

I had problems with my first TB and they took it back. The one that just got damaged is my second. Now the new one will be third. As I said before, I am not under the return period anymore so I don't think I can do this. And I heard they won't take back phone with damage like this.

Thats why you don't call and say "hey my phone has a scratch replace it" tell them bluetooth isn't working or something not software or cosmetic. If you get a lazy rep they will quickly say that they can't further troubleshoot and advice you get it replaced. The Asurion is for everything other than hardware defects. Since it will usually be your fault (i.e. lost or stolen/physical damage). There is and should be a one year warranty on all devices that are considered to have defects and will be replaced. Stuff like kick stand breaking, light leaks, scratches or a horrible battery is not considered.
Evomaster: At least call with any of those pesky issues 4G connectivity, hotspot not working or any others I don't know about. Right off that bat tell them that you have pulled the battery and reset the device. You will have a replacement by wed (its too late today). Just my $.02 you could always just ignore me! haha - 04-18-2011, 05:52 PM

I would do that, but there are new rules that were put in place on April 1 that are in a thread somewhere here. It says something like, "as of april 1, devices that are claimed to have a defect and none is found, a $400 fee will be billed to the account". I don't want to risk that. Plus, I already have decided to go the route of the insurance. But thank you for your suggestions
