Just got a thunderbolt and attempting to connect the mobile hotspot to the ps3 network. Am able to see the wireless network I create via the hotspot and it shows success but when it gets to connecting to playstation network it fails. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or if ps3 doesnt allow this??

Please do not try and play online with a 4G hotspot. While the speeds may be quick enough, the ping is no where near acceptable for online gaming.

LOL, Halo Reach with 350 ms lag on a 3G hotspot is so much fun, /sarcasm, but it is ok for World of Warcraft. 3G is better than Hughesnet for gaming, but I thought 4G pings were like 100 ms.

Anyway, when Hughesnet runs 800-1500 ms latency, 350 seems like a dream!

I really, really need to move! :'(

Keep in mind I pay $85 a month 1.5 MB down and for 425 MB per 24 hours.

Haha, my ping is a 7 or so on a broadband. 100 is way too high! :p

You added in a speed test... Holy Crap! That's unacceptable... My bill is only like $60 a month! Here is my Speed Test. The results are a bit lower than usual as this is Wi-Fi (Download is about 28-30 on a wired) and my ping is a bit lower on a wired too.

Well, that's quite obvious. The lag should give you an advantage. I see lag in Black Ops all the time because of people with terrible pings. It's not my connection and no one sees me lag. Lag benefits the person with the bad connection more often than not.

By the way, comparing 4G to AT&T UVerse is not making your case any better. DSL is complete crap. Companies should not be allowed to label a DSL connection as broadband because it's so slow.
