Default Where to find downloaded file or attachment?

If I open an email and I hit download attachment, maybe a word or excel file, maybe a picture.
Where does it go and how do I find it? Where is the folder, so eventually I can clean it out?
Need to find the excel file I downloaded.
I assume there is an easy way to access the folder, just can’t find the path.
    Thanks as always

    The path is: /mnt/sdcard/Download/

Go to the Market and install Astro File Manager (free) and you can use that to browse the directory structure and copy/delete stuff.

My email attachments are saved in /sdcard/MailAtttachments folder by default.

I also use Astro as my file manager and if I am not sure where my file is, I can always use the "search" button.

That must be because you are not running the stock HTC mail app? I'm using the HTC native mail app and they are stored in mnt/sdcard/Download.

As mentioned download Astro and it would be located on the SD Card under Downloads. If its a picture it will also show up in your Gallery in the Download Folder.
