When the GB update hits verizon hopefully in a week, will anyone who has already rooted miss this update?

I'm a NOOB if you haven't noticed, thanks guys!

Root now. The devs are way past that update already and will implement any good bits into their roms.

If you root now you can have the Gingerbread update now and Sense 3.0 but only root if you feel it's the right thing for you to do. Remember if you do decide to root make sure you read all the direction and only move forward if you understand them. Also there are many great members in the hacks section that could help answer any question you have.

If you do root you won't want to go back unless you need to send your phone back.

Absolutely!!

I held off for a long time. But last week I rooted and, VOILA! everythign works as it should.

no more reboots
GPS locks on instantly
everything is snappier and the UI is way better

I'm running the BAMF 2.1 ROM
be sure to load the MR2.5 radio too otherwise you'll have no radio.

really simple to do and well worth it!

The auto root is very easy to use. Just read the posts in that thread. This is my first droid and I was able to do it with no problems at all.

I wish I had the guts to root but I don't want to mess up my phone.

I felt the same as you not too long ago. Auto root is easy and it walks you through step my step. Just take your time and do exactly what it says and you'll be rooted in 30 minutes. Unroot only takes 5 minutes should you want to go back at any point in time.

Heck yes you should root!!

There are so many great roms out there especially

DASBamf which I'm using right now.

I held off for a while too but when I thought about all the cool things I could do with my rooted Moto Droid I just had to root again.

Here's a link to help you get started.

Thunderbolt Auto Root and Unroot

Now for it to work though you need to be on Windows.
