I will be going to verizon soon and I want a HTC made dual core LTE but I can live without LTE but I do want htc made dual core on verizon and i think I might have to settle for the Thunderbold but I want to wait and see if there will be some sort of sensation variation

I went with the Thunderbolt because I wanted 4G LTE before their unlimited plans went away on July 7th and because HTC Sense looked like the best version of Android to me. I came from an iPhone 4 on AT&T. If any dual-core phones come out in the next two weeks (that's how long I have to return the phone) I'll probably switch to one of those. So far I'm liking the Thunderbolt a lot though.

If there's one thing I've learned from the Android world is to never settle, make the right choice for you when it feels right. I was available for an upgrade 5 months before the Thunderbolt was released. I waited for it ever since Android Central had leaked info on it and I knew it was my dream phone. Now I have it and I love it, sure it seems like something new comes out every week and out specs it by a thousand but I don't care because in my opinion the Thunderbolt is the best phone on Verizon, not to mention a huge HTC fan. So don't go and settle cuz your just gonna hate it later. Give yourself some time to review phones and see if anything like the Sensation comes to VZW.

HTC dual core = bring along a car battery, cuz it will probably have the smallest battery available. The bolt, like any other smarter phone, has its quirks. The good news is that the quirks are being ironed out. The bad news? By the time they are ironed out the phone will be middle of the pack spec wise. That's how technology is developing now. Pick your poison: soon to be stable phone with mediocre specs, or be a trailblazer like the first bolt owners and deal with unknown issues.

Leaked rumors from Verizon is... that as long as you have a phone on Verizon with an unlimited data plan, you are locked in. Doesn't matter if the phone is 3G right now... you will be able to upgrade to 4G and you will be able to upgrade to newer phones in the future with the discount price and make changes to your plan. The tiered plans only affect Verizon customers adding a new line to their contract.

Wanted big screen, wanted Android, wanted a fast phone, wanted unlimited data, and wanted LTE and I got it all with the TB. Also got away from a Blackberry Storm which I had taken to the limits of its capability. The Storm is now a backup phone.

I agree with the rest... Best phone I ever had, glad I did not wait and I have the unlimited plan. I was interested in the Bionic but guess what, I'd still be waiting.... No regrets!

I bought it, thinking that if it was a "pos", I'd just return it. Turns out it's the perfect phone for me, and I'm thrilled I took the plunge.

+1 I came to android on a fascinate...which I hated.... Got my bolt and love it. You just have to think about what will suit you best. If you feel its the tbolt, then I don't think you will be disappointed.

I'm thinking Samsung Galaxy S 2 is the bomb. Otherwise I bet I'd be very happy with Bolt. I'm waiting it out for now. My Incredible is rad but I know it's far behind. The new tablet keeps me happy though.....

It really depends on what your current smartphone situation is. For arguments sake, let's say that right now you already have a smartphone on Verizon and you're thinking about your upgrade. If you view the Thunderbolt as settling, and your phone still works, I'd wait to get something that really grabs you. If you're new to Verizon, or are coming from a non-smartphone, the Thunderbolt is a fantastic phone. Even with all of the dual core phones that are out now, I'm in no way upset that I got this when I did. It will definitely last me all the way through my contract.

If a dual core HTC phone with an unlimited plan is really important to you, stick with Sprint and get the Evo 3D, or hop on over to T-Mobile and grab the Sensation. If you do that, you don't have to worry about doing it ASAP, so you can make a better decision.

I just got the TB and it's great. I had a dinc and was very satisfied with that...that's the phone that made me a true believer in HTC. My dinc was actually still good and up to par for all my needs, the only reason I upgraded was for 4G. I honestly can't imagine any situations that calls for my phone to be dual core...but that's just me.

I will join the many saying the Thunderbolt is a fine unit. I luckily have not had any of the reboot problems that others have. My battery life has been about normal for a smartphone, though I live in the out beyond and clearly have no access for 4G within 250 miles.

But I would certainly want a slightly less powerful phone with an unlimited data plan than a dual core where I was paying through the nose for the higher tiers of the new pricing structure. I'd say jump on the unlimited plan while you can.

I've been with VZW for years as they were the only ones with real coverage around my last base. I got the Blackberry Storm as soon as it came out as I needed a world phone. worst touch screen ever just didn't know it as it was my first. Didn't know how bad until I bought and iPod Touch on a deployment. Came back got the Blackberry 9650 to keep the world phone get a keyboard. was ok until the "upgrade to OS 6.... nothing but issues and no fixes.... OS 4 and 5 had just about monthly updates... not 6.... I jumped after they the OS 7 and new Bolds using Qualcom SoC. I've retired from military and live in an LTE border zone. I jumped for the Thunderbolt in mid-May as rumors of tiered data heated up. I wanted to wait on dual core LTE, but what i decided was more important was dual modems... both with voice. TBolt is the only phone on or projected to VZW with voice and data on 3G and LTE. Doesn't matter how fast the CPU is if it can't get data. Don't get me wrong the TBolt is fast. Tergra2 beats in some benchmarks and loses in some. Over all it's closer than marketing hype over dual core would lead you to believe. The TBolt isn't perfect... battery life especially using LTE isn't pretty though changing 1400Mah out for 3200MAh battery worked for me. I got mine as the OTA update that brought the reboot issue. Yes I got hit by it. 4+ reboot a day at first. now its 1 every other day thanks to the forums for the improvement. Can't wait for a real fix and Gingerbread. even without it I highly recommend TBolt. love the large screen, its fast, lots of storage, happy it came with 32GB SD card.... beats others that tout support for 32GB, but ship with less installed. For me it was the voice and data (3G/4G) at the same time. The others can do 4G and voice, but not 3G and voice.

I'm kind of wondering the same thing about "settling" for the TBolt. I really like the Sensation on TMo, but my company has a nice discount with VZW and I'm wondering if I should hop on it to get the unlimited. Plan cost-wise, they're only a couple bucks apart per month..excpet one is unlimited data vs 2gb at 4g then throttled. I had my mind on a dual core "future proofing" my decision a little, but the AT&T merger + 7/7 supposed D-Day has me wondering about just going for the Bolt. I originally was jonesing when it was announced, but after the battery issues and a couple friends having a pretty junk experience w/their phones, I was a little "ehhh, IDK." Of course, that was pre-LTE being turned on in my area and theirs...which has added a little more battery time. Feel wise, both are built comfortably and right amount of heft IMO. It's just the hardware vs carrierware vs cost rattling in my head

I just got my Thunderbolt last week after being on AT&T with a Blackberry Bold. I was deciding between the Thunderbolt and an iPhone, and so far I am quite happy with my choice. This being my first Android device, I found that the learning curve to getting it to work well isn't so hard after all. Sure, it's a bit of a battery hog, but turning off the 4G network when not using it gets me through the day on one charge. I'm glad I went with something new instead of something familiar.
